Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document carrying device whose convenience in use is improved by automatically operating a tray according to an operating condition of a device. SOLUTION: A setting surface 7 is provided to set a document to be carried. A document receiving tray 11 to receive the discharged document is arranged in the vicinity of a document discharge port 10. The lower end of the document receiving tray 11 can rotate, and a tray driving device is connected to the inmost side. The tray driving device rotatably displaces the document receiving tray 11 with the lower end as the center according to an operating condition of an automatic document carrying device 1. The document receiving tray 11 is almost vertically stood (A and D) until the document is set on the setting surface 7. When the document is carried, the document receiving tray 11 is rotated (B and C) in an obliquely lying condition to receive a paper sheet discharged from the discharge port 10. Therefore, when the document is set on the setting surface 7, the document receiving tray does not become a hindrance. Since the document receiving tray 11 is automatically driven, convenience in use is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a jammed original from being damaged by properly detecting that the original is jammed at the entering part or the leaving part of an original carrying path when it occurs and quickly complying with it. CONSTITUTION:When the original is jammed at the entering part 54 of the original carrying path, it is detected by a first position regulation member 168 and an original detector 236. When it is jammed at the leaving part 56 of the original carrying path, it is detected by a second position regulation member 168 and an original detector 242. When the original detector 242 continues to detect the original even after a detector (it is not shown in a graphic) detects that the original carrying mechanism works by a prescribed quantity, the detector gives a jam signal, quickly takes a measure to meet the respective situations and stops the carrying of the original. As the result, the jammed original is prevented from being damaged.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase a copying speed, by selectively setting a start time point for generating an image in the following copying step, in accordance with length of the carrying direction of copying paper which has been carried through a prescribed route in the previous process, in case of continuous copying. CONSTITUTION:In case when a copying process is executed continuously 2 times or plural times, a time interval between a time point when the first supporting frame body of an optical system 26 has reached a detecting position of the third optical system detector in the previous copying steps, and a time point when the first supporting frame body of the optical system 26 reaches the detecting position of the third optical system detector, that is to say, a time interval between a time point when generation of an image onto a photosensitive body 12 has been started in the previous copying step, and a time point when generation of an image has been started in the following copying step is different depending on length of the carrying direction of copying paper which has been carried through a copying paper carrying route 56 in the previous copying step. Accordingly, in accordance with the length of this carrying direction, a start time point of generation of an image in the following step is set.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily take out a jammed document without damaging it by obtaining such structure that a document conducting roller is automatically retreated from the jammed document by a spring for separation by rotating a main frame to a non-acting position when the document is jammed. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine housing 2 is provided with a document supplying and ejecting device 4, which is constituted of a still supporting frame 10 and the main frame 12 for feeding the document with the frame 10. The main frame 12 is mounted so that it can freely rotate between an acting position and the non-acting position for opening it to process the document which is jammed in a document feeding path, and the upstream side and the downstream side document conducting rollers 188 and 190 are movably provided at the acting and the non-acting positions for the document in the main frame 12. When the document is jammed and the main frame 12 is situated at the non- acting position, the rollers are automatically retreated from the jammed document to the non-acting position by the spring for separation. Thus, the jammed document is easily taken out without damaging it.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simultaneously satisfy the mutual demands of a feeding/ejecting device by transmitting small carrying force to an original from an endless belt when the original is fed to an transparent plate and transmitting the large carrying force from the endless belt when the original is ejected. CONSTITUTION:When the original is fed to the transparent plate 8, a pressing roller 170 is situated to an inactive position and the carrying force transmitted to the original from the endless belt 134 is small. Besides, even when the original abuts on an original position regulation member 168 which is situated to an obstructing position, the movement of the original is stopped without causing a wrinkle. When the original is ejected from the plate 8, the roller 170 is set to a pressing position and the carrying force transmitted to the original from the endless carrying belt becomes large. Besides, even when the carrying path of a conduct part 56 is curved, the original is surely ejected.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To assure the coincidence of timing among the displacement actions and to perform each displacement action in an assured way with a simple constitution, by driving the reciprocating displacement and the contact/non-contact displacement with coupling to each other for a blade. CONSTITUTION:A lever 54 releases the coupling between a pawl 49 and a tooth 48a with the energization of a solenoid 57 of an electromagnetic plunger 58. The rotary power of a sprocket wheel 42 it transmitted to a roatry plate 40 from a spring clutch 43. Thus a pin 39 turns a gear 37, and a follower 34 and a support shaft 25 are displaced toward the axial line. Then a blade 23 is displaced along the axial line of a photosensitive drum 7. In this case, a follower 61 touches a cam face 60 of the plate 40. Thus a lever 70, etc. turns, and the blade 23 touches a photosensitive layer 11. The blade 23 is detached from the layer 11 with the demagnetization of the solenoid 57, and the cleaning is accomplished.
