Abstract: The system includes a battery charger (300) and a battery pack (100). Upon insertion of the battery pack (100) into a retention area (303) of the battery charger (300), a battery pack channel (101) and a corresponding battery charger rail (305) align the battery pack electrical contacts (201) with the electrical contacts (309) of the battery charger. In order to ensure that a reliable electrical connection is made between the two sets of contacts (201, 309), a compliance rib (501) is disposed within the channel (101) of the battery pack (100). The compliance rib (501) creates an interference between the rail (305) and the channel (101), consequently, creating a force against the rail. The interference is calculated to create a su fficient force in combination with the force created by the weight of the battery pack (100) such that the force of the battery pack meets o r exceeds the force created by the set of electrical contacts in the battery charger.

Abstract: A unique method and apparatus effectively routes conductors such as conductors on a flex strip (402) through a hinge of a foldable electronic device (100) such portable cellular radiotelephone or some other wireless communication device. In particular, a cylinder (118) is rotatably mounted within the hinge portion of a housing (104). The cylinder preferably includes a slot for receiving a distal end portion (414) of the flex strip which is also inserted into a slot (310) in the other housing (102) of the foldable electronic device. The method and apparatus of the present invention enables the flex strip to be routed between the two moveable housings and the housing elements to move with respect to one another without being damaged.

Also, a method for forming a battery pack comprises steps of positioning a battery of cells within a bonding surface of an outer casing of the battery pack: encapsulating the battery of cells with an inner casing, the inner casing having a surface corresponding to the bonding surface of the outer casing; and bonding the corresponding surface of the inner casing to the bonding surface of the outer casing. The battery pack and method for forming the battery pack reduce the weight and complexity in manufacturing.

The apparatus (116) also has contacts (1730-1733) located at the surface (1712) rather than at an end (1708 and 1709). The contacts (1730-1733) are electrically connected to the battery (1702). This apparatus (116) stands alone as a low profile battery pack, or may further include structure resident on an electronic device (100) to connect the battery (1702) to electronic circuitry (1700) of the electronic device (100) to realize a reduction in form factor thickness.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure rigid fitting by composing a housing assembly of first and second housings for limiting outer circumferential movement of first fitting outer circumference which has a tab and second fitting outer circumference having a slot. SOLUTION: Rear face housing part 106 forms a housing shell having an outer surface 302, an inner surface 304 and a fitting outer circumference 306 extending along the wall of the housing shell. The back housing part 106 is provided with at least a first tab, e.g. a tab 323, along a part of the fitting outer circumference 306. The front housing part 104 is provided with at least a first slot, e.g. a slot 315, along a part of a fitting outer circumference 376. The fitting outer circumference 306 is fitted with the fitting outer circumference 376 to form a part of upper housing 102 (at least a part of the housing), where at least the first tab is inserted into the first slot. At least the first tab and the first slot are constituted, such that movement thereof along the fitting outer circumferences 306, 376 is limited between the front and rear housings 104, 106.
