    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyolefin-based resin composition hardly discoloring even when exposed to UV light, or the like, and comprising a polyolefin and an esterified wood-based material. SOLUTION: A polyolefin-based resin composition comprises (A) a polyolefin, (B) an esterified wood-based material obtained by addition-esterifying a polybasic acid anhydride to hydroxyl groups in the wood-like material, and (C) a discoloration-preventing agent selected from the group consisting of hydrotalcite, sodium carbonate and calcium oxide. The discoloration-preventing agent is added in an amount of 0.05-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the total amount of the components A and B.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a woody material filler of thermoplastic resin of a low cost obtainable in large quantity by heating and kneading woody material and specific amount of polybasic acid anhydride to the material under the condition of a predetermined temperature. SOLUTION: 0.7 to 12 pts.wt. of polybasic acid anhydride such as maleic anhydride or succinic anhydride is mixed with 100 pts.wt. of dry woody material such as sander powder to be discharged during a manufacturing process of a wood flour, timber fiber or fiberboard. This mixture is heated and kneaded under the condition of a predetermined temperature to manufacture woody material filler in which esterified woody material containing carboxyl group generated in addition reaction of hydroxyl group with the polybasic acid anhydride in the woody material is existed. As a kneading apparatus, in the case of using a continuous kneader or a biaxial extruder, woody material filler for thermoplastic resin can be continuously manufactured in an extremely short kneading time to provide satisfactory productivity and low cost.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a surface hardened wooden decorative sheet with excellent appearance, surface smoothness and hardness, abrasion resistance, water-proofness, etc., industrially profitably. SOLUTION: A composition consisting of a chemically modified wooden material, a thermoplastic resin, thermosetting resin and a polymerization initiator is made into a sheet form. The obtained sheet-shaped hardened composition is placed on a wooden base material for hot press molding, by which plasticization of the chemically modified wooden material in the sheet-shaped curable composition and bridging of thermosetting resin are conducted to integrate the sheet-shaped curable composition and a consolidated wooden base material with each other.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain wood-based material composition, which is excellent in heat fluidity and can be extruded, by a method wherein explosive crushing-treated wood-based material is reacted with the predetermined amount of monoepoxy compound or monoepoxy compound and polybasic acid anhydride. CONSTITUTION:The composition concerned is prepared by reacting 100 pts.wt. of explosive crushing-treated wood-based material as wood-based material component with 50-300 pts.wt. of monoepoxy compound or 50-300 pts.wt. of the sum of monoepoxy compound and polybasic acid anhydride. Concretely, method for adding monoepoxy compound to the hydroxyl group of the explosive crushing-treated wood-based material in the presence of potassium salt of aliphatic acid or method for alternately adding monoepoxy compound and polybasic acid anhydride to the hydroxyl group of the explosive crushing-treated wood-based material for esterification reaction is given as embodiment. By-produced oligomer is used as one component of said composition and not needed to be removed. Explosive crushing treatment can be performed through sudden decompression of wooden chips, wooden fibers, finely divided wooden powder or the like after the steaming in saturated steam having the pressure of 3-50kg/cm . The obtained composition can be formed by ordinary forming method such as extrusion molding, injection molding or the like.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently manufacture a particle board with excellent water resistivity by heat-pressing oligoesterified lumber chips having polymeric double bond and a reactive product material consisting of oligomer having polymeric double bond. CONSTITUTION:Oligoesterified lumber chips obtained by reacting dibasic acid anhydride such as allylglycidylether, glycidylmethacrylmethacrylate composition, or the like and monoepoxy composition having polymeric double bond, to lumber chips and an reactive product material consisting of oligomer are subjected to forming so as to be a predetermined thickness and thereafter the forming mat is thermal-pressed for about 0.2-5.0 min at a temperature of 80-180 deg.C under the pressure of the order of 5-60kg.f/m . As a result, the oligoesterified lumber chips and the polymeric double bond of the oligomer are polymerized, thereby obtaining a firmly combined particle board.
