Abstract: An installation tool (40) that is used to install a bundling member, such as a metal tie or strap, around a bundle of objects. The installation tool has a tool body (42), a front handle (120) and an adjustable rear handle (260). The front handle is positioned within the tool body and the rear handle is pivotally connected to the tool body. The front handle includes a tensioning mechanism with a ratchet mechanism (162) that tensions the bundling member around the bundle of objects to a predetermined tension setting. The front handle also includes a lockout mechanism (220) that overrides the predetermined tension setting of the tension mechanism to enable the bundling member to be tensioned to a desired tension setting.

Abstract: A harness board fixture (20) with improved mounting features enables better positioning and securing of an automatic cable tie tool to the fixture. The mounting features may be provided on the same side or on opposite sides of an arcuate wire bundle support surface of the fixture. When provided on a same side, multiple mounting or locating features may be located near each other. The opposite side, forming a front of the fixture, may be open to define a readily accessible wire bundle entrance and exit path. The fixture preferably includes a mounting structure for reliably receiving and releaseably holding a push mount (22) by snap-fit and oriented substantially perpendicular to the fixture base or at an angle.

Abstract: A raceway section forms part of a raceway system for routing, protecting and enclosing cabling, and includes a base member, which may be U-shaped, and two split covers independently removably attached to side walls of the base member, such as by a hook and buckle attachment system. The base member defines a cable receiving channel and a longitudinally extending top opening. The split covers each have a laterally extending cover portion, an outside edge portion, and an inside edge portion, wherein the split covers each cover a portion of the longitudinally extending top opening such that a substantial amount of the top opening is covered. The inside edge portions are juxtaposed to form a longitudinally extending slot sufficiently wide to allow the removal or insertion of a cable through the slot without removal of the split covers. For insertion or removal of larger cables or bundles, one or both split covers can be removed.

Abstract: An up-spout fitting useful for mounting onto various duct sections of a cable duct system having a base and side walls with a hinge arrangement. The up-spout fitting includes at least a pair of up-spout fitting halves. Each fitting half comprises a base element having a complementary hinge arrangement on at least one side thereof and side walls projecting upward from the base element and defining an outlet aperture that is open on at least one side of the fitting half and open on both a bottom and a top of the fitting half. The pair of fitting halves are mountable onto the duct section with respective outlet apertures facing each other to form a common outlet aperture substantially closed on the sides while remaining open on both the top and bottom to allow cable passage therethrough. By making the side walls of each fitting L-shaped, rotational opening of individual fitting halves can be achieved without interference with the other fitting half or cables located within the duct and fitting. This allows selective opening of one or both fitting halves while still gaining access to the cable receiving channel of the duct section. Also, due to the shape and location of mounting brackets on the outlet aperture of the fitting, additional components can be mounted in multiple orientations.

Abstract: A low thread force two piece cable tie includes a strap, a locking head forming a strap accepting channel, a metal barb positioned within the channel and mounted to the locking head, and a cored out pocket disposed adjacent the metal barb at the entrance to the strap accepting channel. The cored out pocket allows for a slight rotation of the metal barb during insertion of the tip of the strap which enhances the threadability of the cable tie.
