Abstract:
A method for determining a viewing configuration of a rendered figure of a rehab-patient or a sports trainee, aiming to deliver a suitable view on the rendered figure, the method comprising the steps of capturing motion data in the 3D space of one or more body parts of the rehab-patientor the sports trainee and providing them to a computer; and further the step of performing on the computer measurements of deviation of the captured motion data from a reference list of motion data and/or measurements of main motion direction; and based on the results of the above measurements, determining the viewing configuration.
Abstract:
Speech analysis system with a system for undisturbed speech generation of a person and to a method for analysing a speech generation of a person. The speech analysis system allows for an undisturbed speech generation by the person. The system first writes out the test sentence, clears it and shows afterwards a sequence of visual clues to the person in order to remind him of the correct wording. The person is reminded of the sentence and repeats it exactly but without any influence through letters. The method provides visual clues that remind the person of the exact sentence, without influencing his pronunciation.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a training device (10) for patients with physical disabilities. It can be moved on a surface (12) and has a dedicated drive. Moreover, it is equipped with a support shell, on which an extremity (11) of the patient can be at least partially placed.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and a device for scrolling a document being displayed to a user operating a scroll device, where the scroll rate and/or the scroll direction is determined based on information on the content in and related to the displayed section of the document and based on input from the user. According to the invention the scroll rate and direction can be adapted continuously throughout the scrolling of the document, so that the scrolling adapts to the content related to the section being currently displayed. The method and device according to the present invention furthermore gives the user feedback in terms of varying wobble rates corresponding to the scroll rate and/or direction.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a user interface system for a personal healthcare environment. Furthermore the invention relates to a method of operating such a user interface system. In order to provide a user interface system which can easily be used by disabled users, a user interface system (1) is suggested, comprising a number of user interface components (2, 3, 4), and further comprising an adaptation module (5), said adaptation module (5) being adapted to carry out an automatic adaptation of at least one of the components (2, 3, 4) based on the disabilities of an individual user.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method of analyzing the movement of a user (4) . More particularly the present invention relates to a new technique for assessing a user's motor functions. It is an object of the present invention to provide a simple, robust, and low-cost technique for analyzing the movement of a user, which can be used in an unsupervised home environment. This object is achieved according to the invention by a method of analyzing the movement of a user, the method comprising the steps of causing the user to perform a coordinated movement in accordance with an instruction, generating video image data in form of a sequence of images by video recording the user, determining in the sequence of images a degree of synchronicity of optical flow on the left (14) and right body half (15) using a computer system (11) comprising computer vision technology, and assessing the user' s motor functions based on the degree of synchronicity.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method, touch input display device and computer program product for moving at least one object presented by the touch input display device. In the touch input display device it is detected that a touching member (46) is at least in close proximity of a first object (38) at a first location provided by the touch input display device, a distancing factor of the first object caused by the detection of the touching member is determined and the first object is moved in a direction and a distance selected according to the distancing factor for presenting the object at a second location. The invention allows the rearranging of objects provided by the device such that they better suit a user.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a device and a method for physical training. The device comprises a body; sensor means that are attached to the body and are adapted to detect movement of the body between a first extreme position and a second extreme position, and to supply body movement data corresponding to the movement of the body; a data processor that is adapted to receive the body movement data from the sensor means; a data memory that is connected to the data processor; and output means that are connected to the data processor. The data processor is adapted to: i) store template body movement data in the data memory during a time interval, the template body movement data comprising body movement data at the start of the physical training; ii) after the time interval, compare the body movement data with the template body movement data; and iii) actuate the output means if a difference between the body movement data and the template body movement data exceeds a threshold.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an automatic sensor position recognition system comprising: a position recognition unit (1) located at pre-determined positions on a person's body and bearing a unique identification; - a sensor (2) bearing a unique identification; a communication unit (3) assigned to the sensor and being in communication with the position recognition unit (1) and the sensor (2); a data processing unit (4) in communication with the communication unit; and a database (5) being in communication with the data processing system (4) and comprising the correlation of the unique identification of the position recognition unit (1) and the pre-determined position of the position recognition unit (1). The system according to the invention provides an automatic association between sensors and body segments as well as means to obtain these associations. As a result, no human interaction is required any more to assign a body segment to a sensor. Thus, assignment errors can be prevented and the patient is not burdened any more with attaching a particular sensor to a specific body segment and can concentrate more on the exercises he is supposed to undertake.
