    Abstract: A pump mechanism for use in a medicament-dispensing system having a vial for holding a volume of medicament, a deformable body portion for providing a spring action to the pump mechanism, and a nozzle portion through which medicament is emitted. The pump mechanism comprises a pump sleeve positioned within the deformable body portion. The sleeve has a dosage cavity of pre-determined volume for collecting medicament from the vial and is connected to the nozzle portion. The sleeve has a fluid-inlet orifice for channelling medicament into the dosage cavity. A piston is at least partially and slidably positioned in the pump sleeve for emitting medicament from the dosage cavity via the nozzle portion. The piston is operational coupled to the deformable body portion. At least one O-shaped ring is provided on an annular portion of the piston slidably engaging the pump sleeve to provide a fluid-tight seal.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for formulating and aseptically filling liquid products.
