Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Data may be received during transmission time intervals (TTIs) that have a short duration relative to other TTIs. The short-duration TTIs may occur within or overlap a longer duration TTI, such as a subframe. Feedback responsive to the data may be generated and assigned for transmission during an uplink TTI according to a feedback timing or delay, which may be selected to reduce latency or balance the payload size of uplink messages sent during the assigned uplink TTI. Data and feedback assignments in short-duration TTIs may be configured based on a time division duplexing (TDD) configuration for some TTIs (e.g., subframes). TTIs that are a Long Term Evolution (LTE) subframe, an LTE slot, and a duration of two LTE symbol periods may be supported. Portions of special TTIs may be used for transmissions according to shorter-duration TTIs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that may perform dual stage channel interleaving in which code blocks are interleaved at the code block level and at a symbol level. The interleaved code block data may provide time diversity for the code block data, and the interleaved symbol data may provide frequency diversity for the code block data, thus helping to mitigate narrowband and/or bursty interference. The interleaving within the code block and interleaving within the symbols, in some examples, may allow pipelined implementation of decoding of the code blocks at the receiver, for faster processing. In some cases, systematic data and parity data may be interleaved within the code block data to provide a uniform distribution of the systematic data in time within the code block.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for power control for dual connectivity. A UE may identify a power control configuration that determines priorities for uplink transmissions over multiple component carriers and one or more base stations. The UE may identify a union of semi-static uplink or flexible transmissions between multiple component carriers employed by one cell group, such as a master cell group and a secondary cell group, and determine a configured power level for the cell group. The UE may then determine whether to transmit an uplink transmission on a cell of another cell group, based on the power control configuration and the configured power level.

Abstract: A wireless communications system may support a large number of user equipment (UEs) and a base station may transmit resource configuration information to a group of UEs, in which the configuration information identifies the group of UEs. In some cases, the base station may receive a data transmission from a UE of the UE group that the base station cannot decode. The base station may then transmit a group-common feedback signal to the UE group. Once the transmitting UE of the UE group receives the group-common signal, the UE may re-transmit the data to the base station. By sending a group-common feedback signal, the base station may conserve resources, improve reliability and increase successful uplink transmissions from UEs.

One method may include a user equipment (UE) determining whether it is configured to support a modulation scheme such as, a quadrature-amplitude-modulation (QAM). The UE may identify a plurality of transport block size (TBS) values based on whether the UE is configured with the modulation scheme, and identify a scaled TBS value that is based on a length of a transmission time interval (TTI). The UE may map the scaled TBS value to a TBS value of a plurality of TBS values (e.g., a plurality of TBS value options). As such, the UE may communicate, with a base station during the TTI, data on a transport block having a size corresponding to the mapped TBS value.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, devices may implement carrier aggregation and shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs) for downlink transmissions. To improve downlink throughput with a reduced feedback latency, the system may implement a modified hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) timeline. For example, a base station may configure a first component carrier with a TTI or sTTI for downlink that is longer than an sTTI for a second uplink component carrier. The base station and a user equipment (UE) may operate using a HARQ timing for the first component carrier that is based on the shorter sTTI for the second component carrier. The base station may transmit a downlink transmission using the longer TTI or sTTI for greater carrier aggregation, and the UE may send a downlink HARQ acknowledgment (ACK) message in response according to the HARQ timing for reduced latency.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to defining, by a base station, resources associated with a search space for control information transmitted in the wireless communications, encoding, by the base station, low latency control information associated with a low latency communication technology for transmission in a control channel region in the search space, wherein the control channel region is associated with a second communication technology, wherein the low latency communication technology uses one of multiple possible transmission time interval (TTI) having a duration that is less than a subframe of the second communication technology, and wherein encoding the low latency control information comprises selecting, based on the duration of the TTI, a size of the low latency control information, as number of resource element groups (REGs) within a control channel element (CCE), from multiple sizes defined for the duration of the TTI, and transmitting, by the base station, the low latency control information in the control channel region that is associated with the second communication technology.
