A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In one implementation, an apparatus includes at least one processor configured to attempt communication with a first device via a first channel, connect with a second device associated with the first device in response to a determination that communication with the first device was unsuccessful on the first channel, and receive channel information associated with the first device from the second device, wherein the channel information indicates a second channel used by the first device.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method and apparatus for providing legacy compatible signaling for channel bonding. An example apparatus generally includes a processing system configured to generate a frame having channel bonding information indicating one or more channels available for multi-user (MU) communication by one or more wireless nodes and a first interface configured to output the frame for transmission.

Peer to peer direct mode connection is either time or frequency multiplexed with traffic towards an AP. One peer requests a first time or a first frequency for transmitting to a peer. Once the request is accorded and the direct traffic mode is carried out with the peer, in a second time or in a different frequency, further traffic is carried out by the peers with the AP.

Systems and methods for communicating in a wireless communication system are described. In one aspect a method in a wireless communication system includes assigning a first identifier at a first access point, the first identifier for establishing a link with the first access point. The method includes receiving from a device an access request message to establish the link, the access request message including a second identifier associated with a plurality of access points configured to provide the link, the plurality of access points including the first access point, the second identifier including a sequence of bits having a bit length, wherein the sequence of bits is based on the first identifier, and wherein the bit length of the sequence of bits is less than the first number of bits. The further includes transmitting an access response message establishing the link with the device and including the first identifier.
Abstract:
A system and method for wireless devices to efficiently receive communications by transmitting and receiving specialized beacon messages. Particularly, a wireless device may await reception of a synchronizing beacon message from a transmitting device. A relative position identifier within the synchronizing beacon message may then allow the wireless device to anticipate future beacon message transmissions and to synchronize its reception pattern with the transmitter. In this manner the wireless device need only receive and decode beacon messages germane to its operation.
