Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are presented herein for improved operation of a Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC) of one or more user equipment (UE). For example, an example method of wireless communications is presented, which may include monitoring, by a UE, one or more items received from a UICC of the UE during a UICC operation. In addition, the example method may also include determining that at least one of (a) a number of the one or more items having a first item type exceeds a threshold number, or (b) an elapsed time since the UICC operation started exceeds a threshold time. Moreover, the example method may include providing, based on the determining, a notification to a user interface associated with the UE indicating that the UICC operation is ongoing.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for mutual authentication between a station, having a digital rights agent, and a secure removable media device. The digital rights agent initiates mutual authentication by sending a message to the secure removable media device. The secure removable media device encrypts a first random number using a public key associated with the digital rights agent. The digital rights agent decrypts the encrypted first random number, and encrypts a second random number and a first hash based on at least the first random number. The secure removable media device decrypts the encrypted second random number and the first hash, verifies the first hash to authenticate the digital rights agent, and generates a second hash based on at least the second random number. The digital rights agent verifies the second hash to authenticate the secure removable media device.
Abstract:
A configuration device is disclosed for configuring a network device in a communication network. The configuration device initiates pairing operations with the network device via a short-range communication connection. The configuration device determines whether the network device is in a registered state or an unregistered state. If the configuration device determines that the network device is in the unregistered state, the configuration device establishes a secure short-range communication channel between the configuration device and the network device. The configuration device transmits a network key to the network device via the secure short-range communication channel for configuring the network device to communicatively connect to the communication network. If the configuration device determines that the network device is in the registered state, the configuration device determines whether to unregister the network device.
Abstract:
Distribution of rights protected content as a function of advertisement based sponsorship is provided. Rights protected content can be obtained by a user for no cost or for a reduced cost in exchange for acceptance of advertisements. The advertisements can be provided as a condition that should be satisfied before the rights protected content is presented. The advertisement can be distributed as a single delivery or as a bundled delivery. The premium content and associated advertising rules can be shared between devices in a peer-to-peer manner.

Abstract:
Embodiments describe a system and/or method for multiple party digital signatures. According to a first aspect a method comprises establishing a first validity range for a first key, establishing a first validity range for at least a second key, and determining if the validity range of the first key overlaps the first validity range of the at least a second key. A certificate is signed with the first validity range of the first key and the first validity range of the at least a second key if the validity ranges overlap. According to another embodiment, signage of the certificate is refused if the first validity range of the first key does not overlap with the first validity range of the at least a second key.
