Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent saturation of light receiving elements which is apt to saturate by reducing the accumulated charge amount without reducing the signal strength of the light receiving elements compatible with an unnecessarily large wavelength range.
SOLUTION: The light emission spectrum of a light source 2 is measured (step S1). A threshold exceeded only by a projecting wavelength band of the spectrum intensity is set based on the light emission spectrum of the light source 2 (step S2). The ratio between the peak value of the wavelength band exceeding the threshold and the set threshold is determined (step S3). The charge accumulation time of the light receiving elements corresponding to the wavelength band not higher than the threshold is set as the longest charge accumulation time among charge accumulation times at which saturation does not occur in any light receiving element (step S4). Based on the ratio between the peak value of the wavelength band exceeding the threshold and the threshold, the charge accumulation time of the light receiving elements corresponding to the wavelength band exceeding the threshold is set (step S5).

A disc 10 is rotated by a rotary dial 14, and a holmium filter 1 is arranged on the light path, and the wavelength of a light irradiated to the holmium filter 1 is scanned within the range of 190-900 nm, and the absorption maximum wavelength of the transmitted light intensity is calculated so that the accuracy of the wavelength can be calibrated. Then, the transmitted light intensity of an open part 7 and a labeled optical filter 4 on the light path is measured so that the accuracy of absorbance can be calibrated. Then, the open part 7 and optical filters 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are successively arranged on the light path, and the transmitted light intensity is measured, and the linearity of each measured value is judged so that the linearity can be calibrated. Also, the holmium filter 1 and the optical filters 2-6 can be easily removed from the disk 10 so as to be calibrated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent backward flow of a solvent even in the case a degassing apparatus is stopped while pressure control of a solvent bottle being forgotten by forming a bypass flow route having resistance between a purge tube and either an upper part space of a container or a somewhere of bent tube to a vent valve installed in the vent tube. SOLUTION: At the time of degassing, helium gas is bubbled in a liquid of a solvent 32 in a solvent bottle 3 after being passed through a pressure adjusting apparatus 21, a purge resistance 23, a purge tube 34, and a porous filter 35. At this time, a slight amount of the helium gas is released through a vent valve 24 from a bypass resistance 26 installed in this apparatus. On the completion of degassing, the vent valve 24 is closed. Even in the case an inlet valve 11 is closed while the vent valve 24 being erroneously closed after bubbling, the pressure of the inside of the solvent bottle 3 is gradually released through the bypass resistance 26, a purge resistance, and a leak resistance 25, so that backward flow of the solvent does not occur.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the tailing of a peak being generated due to 'stagnation' of a fluid stagnation part even in a rectangular flow cell where a fluid to be measured flows into and out of a side surface. SOLUTION: In a photodetector for measuring optical characteristics by applying light, a restrictor 9 in a shape along the flow (flow line) of a fluid in a flow cell 6 is arranged at the front and rear of the rectangular flow cell 6 or either the front or the rear, thus measuring only the flow part of a fluid that can be substituted quickly. The shape along the flow (flow line) of the fluid has a basic shape where both sides are curved in the longitudinal direction for avoiding a corner part and a wall surface part in the flow cell, namely a stagnation part. Further, the loss in the quantity of light can be suppressed by forming upper and lower edges roundly for improved effect.

Consequently, light reaching the slit 6 consists of light =400nm of a tungsten lamp and has an intense light emission spectrum from short wavelength to long wavelength.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the whole of a separation flow channel measurable and make of sensitivity of the necessary part on the separation flow channel enhancible by moving laser beam to scan the desired range of the separation flow channel. SOLUTION: On the one surface side of a glass plate 4 to which a linear separation flow channel 2 is formed, the monochromatic laser beam from a laser beam source is condensed to a mirror 16 by a condensing lens 14. The mirror 16 fixed to a rotary shaft 20 is repeatedly rotated at a designated angle by the operation of a mirror driving part 18 and the reflected laser beam irradiates the predetermined range of the separation flow channel 2 while scaning the predetermined range thereof. The photodiode 12 provided on the other surface of the glass plate 4 detects the beam from the separation flow channel 2 over the predetermined range. If the mirror 16 is repeatedly rotated to scan the whole of the separation flow channel several times, quantity of beam becomes insufficient and noise becomes large but the rough position of a peak is cleared and the separation state of a sample can be measured. Next, when a scanning range is made small and the mirror 16 is rotated, sufficient quantity of light is obtained within the scanning range and peripheral noise is reduced to accurately detect the peak.
