    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the influence of the refractive index of a measuring liquid by providing a long-sized cylindrical optical path provided with a liquid inlet and liquid outlet and constituting a light incident face of a planoconvex lens. CONSTITUTION:The liquid inlet 2, the liquid outlet 3, the long-sized cylindrical optical path 4 and the planoconvex lens 5, etc. are provided. The flow cell is so constituted that the wavelength light of a wax. incident angle is also irradiated to a photodiode 8 through a transmission face without striking against the inside wall of the optical path 4. The refraction of the light at the boundary face between the lens 5 and the liquid changes when the refractive index changes as a result of the change of the liquid to be introduced into the path 4 and therefore the transmission state of the light is subjected to the change as well but since the focal length of the lens 5 is adjusted to about the same as the optical path length, the reflection of the measuring light at the inside wall of the optical path does not arise within the range of the ordinarily considered refractive index changes. As a result the change of the intensity of the transmitted light owing to the change of the refractive index does not arise and the influence by said refractive index change is eliminated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect without fail the absorption caused by a sample with any wavelength in a wide range from an ultrared region through a visible range, by securing such constitution in which the continuous spectrum beam radiated from a light source is irradiated to a photo-acoustic cell via a beam chopper means. CONSTITUTION:The white beam of a continuous spectrum which is radiated from a xenon lamp 2 is separated by a diffraction grating 6 via a lens 3, a slit 4 and a mirror 5. Then the spectra having the wavelengths of 230mm. among the separated ones are cut by a shielding plate 7, and others are condensed again by a condenser lens 8. These spectrum beams are made incident to an optical sound cell 10 while being intermitted by a beam chopper means 9. The signal proportional to the light absorption quantity of a sample is obtained from a piezo-resistance effect element 11 of the cell 10 by a photo-acoustic effect to be recorded by a recorder 13 via a lock-in amplifier 12.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform a spectrum measurement of high resolving power by using a diode array, by inserting a filter crossing the whole optical path of a spectrometer. CONSTITUTION:An incandescent electric lamp 1 emits visible rays, while a heavy- water lamp 2 emits rays in the ultraviolet region. A concave mirror 3 converges the rays from the incandenscent electric lamp 1 and the heavy-water lamp 2 on an inlet slit 7. The rays having permeated through a sample 6 is passed through the slit 7 and made incident on a concave diffraction grating 8, where the rays are dispersed, forming the extinction spectrum of the sample 6 on a diode array 9. A rotary filter 5 is arranged so as to cross the whole optical path and rotated by means of a pulse motor 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently prevent the generation of the error of a detection value based on the variation in the dark signal of a photodiode array (FDA) or that in the brightness of a light source, by thermostatically holding FDA to stabilize the dark signal. CONSTITUTION:At first, because FDA and a diode 7 are mounted in the same thermostatic container 8, both of them are respectively held to a constant temp. of 30 deg.C. When an irradiation light path is closed by a blocking plate 61, the outputs, that is, the dark signals of 501 respective elements of FDA5 are detected and subjected to A/D conversion by an A/D converter 92 to be stored in a calculation part 93. Subsequently, when the light path is opened by the blocking plate 61, irradiated light is transmitted through a flow cell 2 to be spectrally diffracted by a diffraction lattice 4 and detected by FDA5 and a part thereof is detected by the diode 71. In this case, the outputs of 501 elements at the point of time (t) are respectively stored in the memory of the calculation part 93 and, at the same time, the intensity of irradiated light is detected by the diode 71 to be stored similarly. These data are calculated on the basis of a predetermined formula and the absorbancy of a specimen at the detection time (t) is calculated for each wavelength.

CONSTITUTION:A downward stroke of push rod 7 is acted with a cam 5 by means of a cam follower 6 resisting against the elastic force of compression coil spring 9, the upward stroke of a push rod 7 being actuated by an elastic force of coil spring 9, the motion thereof is usually regulated by a cam 5 by means of the cam follower 6. This enables the confluence intake which is comminicated by means of respective plunger 10 controllable respectively by three cams 5 having 120 deg. out-of-phase by actuating the plunger 10 which acts in an identical motion with the push rod 7 and a check valve, the intake of liquid phase of discharge flow-way, and the discharge performance to ensure without causing a pulsation.
