Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct correctly the change of the light quantity of the photodetecting element due to the dirt of a flow cell, optical element, etc., by being provided with the photodetecting element for a single monitor and the control means to control the electric power source for the light source. CONSTITUTION:A light flux photodetected to a photodetecting element 9c for the monitor goes to be an electric current IM, is inputted to an electric current voltage converting device 12 and the output voltage VM is inputted to an integrator 13. When the voltage VM is higher than a reference voltage Vr, a charged electric current flows from a resistance R to a capacitor C, the output voltage of the integrator 13 is decreased, and the base electric current of a transistor 15 is decreased. Consequently, the emitter electric current sent from an electric power supply voltage Vc for the light source to a light emitting element 2 is decreased, and the light quantity of the light emitting element 2 is decreased. The decrease in the light quantity is detected by the photodetecting element 9c for the monitor, and the output electric current is decreased. When the photodetecting element 9c for the monitor is decreased lower than the reference voltage Vr, the control reverse to the above-mentioned case is executed.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To make a single interface serve both as an ESI(an electrospray interface) and an APCI(an atmospheric pressure chemical ionizing interface). CONSTITUTION: An atomizing chamber 21 movable in the shaft direction is arranged around a needle 20, and the tip of a discharge electrode 23 is fixed to its front. The ESI arrangement in which a nozzle of the needle projects forward more than the atomizing chamber and the discharge electrode and the APCI arrangement in which the nozzle is positioned inside the atomizing chamber, are switched to/from each other by a V ring 17. In the ESI arrangement, high voltage is impressed on the needle. In the APCI arrangement, high voltage is impressed on the discharge electrode, and a heater of the atomizing chamber is heated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the amount of light constant all the time for the same reacting material and to make it possible to adjust the amount of the light to the optimum amount of light which agrees with a reacting material when the reacting material is different by providing a means for a adjusting the amount of the light which is projected on a reacting coil part in correspondence with the output of a light-amount detecting means. CONSTITUTION:At first, a sample is injected into a sample introducing part for liquid gas chromatograph. The sample is inputted into a column 14' together with the moving phase containing reagent. In the column 14', the sample is separated and inputted into a reaction coil part 3 together with the reaction coil part 3. The amount of light at the reaction coil part 3 is controlled with a control part 8 so that the optimum value, i.e. the input value for a preset-light-amount-value input part 9, is obtained in correspondence with a reacting material. Photochemical reaction occurs in the reacting coil part 3. The fluorescent material generated by the photochemical reaction is detected with a fluorescence detector 16'. When the material to be measured, i.e. the reacting material, is changed, the setting of the preset- light-amount-value inputting part 9 is changed so as to obtain the optimum amount of the light for the reacting material. When the amount of the light from the light source 1 is decreased during the photochemical reaction, a motor driving circuit 10 is operated by the signal from the control part 8, and a light transmitting member 4 is rotated until the amount of the light becomes equal to the preset value.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the SN of a detector by using a reflecting mirror bored with a hole smaller than the luminous flux diameter of the incident measuring light on a beam splitter in the central part of the incident part of the beam splitter measuring light. CONSTITUTION:Either of light sources 20, 22 is selected by a spherical face mirror 24. The light reflected by the spherical face mirror 24 and past a slit 26 is spectrally split by a concave diffraction grating 2 and is made incident on the beam splitter 28. The beam splitter 28 is a plane mirror bored with the hole in the central part and the central part of the light from the spectroscope 2 passes the hole of the beam splitter 28 and is made incident from the slit 6 through a flow cell 8 on a sample side photodetector 10 and detected. The light reflected on the outer side of hole of the beam splitter 28 is made incident through the slit 12 on a reference side photodetector 14, by which the light is detected. The quantity of the incident light on the sample side photodetector is increased in this way as compared with a device which uses a translucent mirror as the beam splitter.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease the erroneous recognition and missing of the recognition of chromatographic peak, by standardize the chromatogram for a standard substance and the chromatogram of a sample to be measured by a specified method, and displaying the results on a display part at the same time. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source 1 is inputted into a photodiode array type photodetector 5 through an optical cell 3, which is connected to a flow path of a liquid chromatogram, and a grating 4. The chromatogram for every wavelength is measured. A computer 7 standardizes the results of measurements so that integral values Y1, Y2 and Y3 in the directions of the wavelengths at the peaks A, B and C of light absorbing spectrums become a reference integral value alpha. The results are displayed. The computer 7 displays the standardized value of the chromatogram of a standard substance at the same time. Then, the chromatographic peak inherent to the substance is displayed regardless of the concentration of a sample to be measured. The chromatogram of the stand substance is also displayed at the same time. Therefore, erroneous recognitions and missing of recognitions are decreased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a device, by using a xenon flash lamp as a light source, in a spectrophotometer comprising a light source part provided with a light source and a spectroscope means and a corresponding light receiving device. CONSTITUTION:A spectrophotometer 13 comprises a light source part, which is basically constituted by a xenon flash lamp 1 and a diffraction grating 3, and a photodiode 6. Light having a specified wavelength is projected on a sample, which flows in a quartz flow cell 5 from a liquid chromatograph device, and the absorbance of the sample is measured. For this purpose, a light path is set by a condenser lens 11, slits 2 and 10, and the like. By this spectrophotometer, the absorbance in the wavelength region of ultraviolet rays - visible light can be measured without using two kinds of light sources as in the conventional method.
