Abstract: The heel support device has a non-expansible tension member (27) which can be moved in all directions and is designed in the manner of a belt, being secured by one end to the ski and by the other end, by means of a clamp (40), to a pin (47) on the boot heel. By means of this clamp (40) the tension member can be released at will, and can be pulled off from the pin (47) in the event of the occurrence of a tensile force acting substantially in the direction of the boot sole. On the tension member (27), two parts (81.1, 81.2) of a connecting piece (81) are secured at a distance apart so as to be adjustable. The two parts form a connecting piece designed in the manner of a push-button. In the closed state of the connecting piece, a loop (85) of the tension member remains, which, after the release of the connecting piece under the action of an increased tensile force, results in a lengthening of the tension member (27), so that the boot heel can again be lifted away from the ski. … …

Abstract: The two-part ski-binding has a basic part (1) fixed to the ski, and a detachable release-part (2) turned when excess pressure is applied. The basic part has at least three freely pivot-mounted guide-rollers (10) around which are grooves (11), and has an adjustable release-mechanism (6,9) with spring-loaded release-member (9). The release-part has a turn-plate with guide-flanges curved downwards and inwards fitting into the roller peripheral grooves. Cavities are formed between the flanges. The release part has a release-cam. A heel-holder has a non-extensible tension-piece (27) of adjustable length connecting the ski to the boot. USE/ADVANTAGE - The light-weight ski binding for ski-jumping does not ice up, is easily released from different foot-positions, and prevents the ski from being forced up by gusts of wind during jumping.

Abstract: The heel holder lifts off the ski, while the front sole holder (1-4) releases on overload. The heel holder has a non-elastic tensile member (27) movable in all directions and joining the boot to the ski. It releases when desired, and also uncouples the boot from the ski under tensile load parallel to the sole. The length of the tensile member is adjustable. When the resistance to swivel movement increases with the angle of the boot, the tensile member can be elastically extensible, with its degree of extension limited by an adjustable stop. USE/ADVANTAGE - For ski jumping, with increased safety and facility for precise ski guidance during jump.
