Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate problem of strength and to increase the record/reproduction efficiency for a magnetic head, by forming a junction interface between the nonmagnetic and magnetic members so that it goes back to the side apart from a counter face of a magnetic medium from the plane which is orthogonal to a main magnetic pole formed at the tip part of an auxiliary magnetic pole.
CONSTITUTION: Junction interfces 30 and 31 between nonmagnetic members 5 and 5' and magnetic members 6 and 6' are formed so that they move back to the side apart from a counter face of a magnetic medium, i.e., to the lower side of the figure from the plane which is orthogonal to a main magnetic pole 2 formed at a tip part T. In this case, groove parts 9 and 9' are covered with the members 5 and 5' from auxiliary magnetic poles 7 and 7' through return paths parts 8 and 8'. This device can reduce the length Lm of the pole 2 and also eliminates a defect that the parts 9 and 9' open respectively.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To sufficiently stir and disperse a polishing powder in a mixing chamber and inject the polishing powder stably and continuously by intermittently supplying a compressed air into the mixing chamber. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid valve 40 provided in a first supply pipe 6 is opened and closed to interlock with closing and opening of a solenoid valve 31 provided in an exhaust pipe 30, thus intermittently feeding a compressed air into a polishing powder tank 15 in a mixing chamber 2. As a result, an air vibrator effect is further strongly generated in the polishing powder tank 15, and a polishing powder 12 in the tank 15 is widely stirred and sufficiently dispersed. Accordingly, even in the case of using a fine powder having a particle size of about 16mum or more as the polishing powder 12, a polishing powder outlet 20 of the tank 15 is not plugged by the powder 12, but the powder 12 is injected stably and continuously toward an object A such as a wafer to be polished in a blast chamber 3, thereby will polishing the object A.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily and accurately produce a head having an azimuth by combining a stripe-shaped etching resist and dry etching and forming a saw tooth-shaped azimuth etching resist and a dry etching and forming forming a saw tooth-shaped azimuth between a main magnetic pole and a return path part. CONSTITUTION:A non-magnetic substrate 11 such as ceramics, etc., is made to adhere with with the thick film part 12a of the main magnetic pole and after etching is made to adhere with a non-magnetic film 13. Next, a thin film part 12b is superposed on the thick film part 12a to be formed and both 12b and 12a are set as the main magnetic pole 12. An insulating layer 14 is formed all over the main magnetic pole 12 and a spiral coil conductor 15 and the insulating layer 16 covering the conductor 15 are made to adhere and formed on it. Next, after previously installing a window part 17 which reaches the main magnetic pole 12 in the insulating layers 16 and 14 and the non-magnetic layer 13, the saw-tooth tilt is formed on the insulting layer 16 [area (x) in figure] near the head of the main magnetic pole 12 after the etching resist 18 is formed in the stripes having desirable ruggedness and the sane pitch. Then on the ruggedness part 16b a soft magnetic layer 19 which becomes a return path core is formed and etched into a specified shape. Thus, a single magnetic pole type magnetic head having azimuth can be easily and precisely produced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate Barkhausen noises, to improve the symmetric property of the titled magnetic head, and to reduce thermal noise produced when the magnetic head is slid on a magnetic recording medium, by specifying the relation between a sense current and signal magnetic field to a pair of magnetism sensitive section and differentially fetching outputs from the magnetism sensitive pair. CONSTITUTION:An MR magnetism sensitive section 2 is constituted by putting two magnetic layers 4 and 5 upon another with a nonmagnetic intermediate layer 3 between them and, at the same time, the direction of a signal magnetic field HS to the MR magnetic sensitive section 2 is selected in the same direction as that of a sense current (i) so as to orient the anisotropy of the magnetic layers 4 and 5 in a specific direction or form the anisotropy isotropic. As a result, occurrence of Barkhausen noise is effectively eliminated and a reproducing magnetic head which is high in S/N can be realized. Moreover, since a differential constitution is adopted, outputs which are excellent in linearity, namely symmetrical property can be fetched.

CONSTITUTION:Magnetic core parts 7a and 7b for the guard and a main magnetic pole 3, which form a magnetic recording media facing surface S and come to be the return path part of the magnetic flux of the main magnetic pole 3, are composed of a forward core part 9 integrated so that the magnetic core parts 7a and 7b for the guard can surround the main magnetic pole 3 through nonmagnetic materials 8a and 8b and a backward core part 4 to have a winding storing groove part 10 and to have a magnetic core part 4a for the excitation at the inside of a winding 6, and one edge of the main magnetic pole 3 faces on the magnetic recording media facing surface S and other edge is magnetically linked to the magnetic core part 4a for the excitation. Thus, the main magnetic pole and the winding are almost surrounded by the magnetic material, shielded from the external floating magnetic field, and therefore, the influence of the external magnetic noise can be decreased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain the magnetic reproduction with high quality by short-circuiting substantially a winding which energizes a main magnetic pole for record in a reproduction mode in order to impairing the transmittance of a reproduced magnetic flux through said magnetic pole and to reducing the wave of the reproduced wavelength characteristics which is due to a crosstalk of the magnetic flux. CONSTITUTION:A mobile contact 22c of a changeover switch 22 is connected to the 1st fixed contact 22a in a recording mode. Then a magnetic field is produced vertically to a magnetic recording medium 2 which is driven at a prescribed speed over a rubbing surface S by a current flowing to a record winding 3, and a vertical recording layer is magnetized for recording of the prescribed information. While the magnetic flux produced from a vertical recording layer 2c of the medium 2 which is once recorded vertically is picked up by a magnetic resistance element 13. Then a reproduction signal is detected. In this case, the contact 22c is connected to the 2nd fixed terminal 22b and therefore the winding 3 is grounded at its both ends, i.e., shorted. This impairs the transmittance of the magnetic flux to a magnetic pole 1 for record. The magnetic flux passed through the pole 1 reaches an MR element 13 through which detects the reproduced magnetic flux a connection magnetic film 6 and a return path part 5 of the magnetic flux. As a result, a crosstalk of the magnetic flux is eliminated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make mass production easy and to increase recording and reproducing sensitivity by providing a main magnetic pole consisting of a thin soft magnetic film, a thin film coil having a prescribed shape and a magnetic member connected magnetically to the main magnetic pole in the magnetic material part onto a nonmagnetic substrate. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole 8 consisting of a thin soft magnetic material is provided on a nonmagnetic substrate 1 and one end 8a thereof is extended via a sleeper 9a to the surface to be slided with a magnetic recording medium. An insulating film 10 consisting of SiO2, etc. is provided on the pole 8 and the sleeper 9b. A thin film conductor coil 3 formed in such a way that the magnetic path on the other end side of the pole 8 is positioned to the inside provided therein. A lead wire part 3a for leading the terminal 3b to the outside of the magnetic head is formed. A composite core combined with nonmagnetic materials 12, 13 via an insulating film 11 and a magnetic member 14 connected magnetically to the pole 8 via a magnetic material part 15 is joined thereon. The mass production is thus made easy and recording and reproducing sensitivity is improved.
