    Abstract: This invention relates to a method for manufacturing a flat display panel device suitable for being applied to a plasma display panel and the like. In the method comprising forming a barrier-ridge-forming layer over a whole surface of a substrate having an electrode pattern, then removing from barrier-ridge-forming layer the unnecessary portions by jetting an abrasive, so as to form a barrier ridge, and further filling the removed portions with fluorescent paste layer and removing from fluorescent paste layer the unnecessary portions by jetting the abrasive until a given discharge space can be kept. Organic material particles coated with an inorganic material are used as the abrasive for removing the barrier-ridge-forming layer and/or the fluorescent paste layer. By coating the organic material with the inorganic material, the abrasive particles become roundish. Thus, even if these are used as the abrasive, it is not feared that they injury the surfaces of the glass substrate and the address electrode.

    Abstract: A method for producing a slider for an optical head includes a slider member adapted for floating and running over a recording medium during recording and/or reproduction of information signals for the recording medium. An optical lens is bonded to the slider member and a magnetic field generator provided on a surface of the slider member carrying the optical lens facing the recording medium. A first step is forming a groove presenting a bottom surface inclined in the depth-wise direction by ejecting a polishing agent dispersed in a compressed gas on a substrate. A second step is charging an electrically conductive material, which proves a terminal electrically connected to the magnetic field generator in the inside of the groove formed in the substrate. A third step is cutting the substrate in the vicinity of an end of the groove to form a plurality of individual slider members.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a flat panel display device such as a plasma display panel comprises: forming a barrier-ridge-forming layer over a whole surface of a substrate (12) having an electrode (14) pattem, then removing from barrier-ridge-forming layer the unnecessary portions by abrading using a jet of abrasive particles, so as to form a barrier ridge (16), and further filling the removed portions with fluorescent paste layer (18) and removing from fluorescent paste layer the unnecessary portions by jetting the abrasive until a given discharge space is achieved (20). The abrasive comprises organic particles composed of a carbohydrate or an organic high molecular compound (e.g potato starch, coffee, apricot or nylon) coated with inorganic material (e.g. silicon oxide or silicon nitride).

    Abstract: A surface processing method by blowing submicron particles is disclosed, in which submicron particles are blown against a surface of a work to deposit a layer of the material of the particles on a surface of the work, or etching the surface of the work. The processing method uses blowing air stream containing submicron particles having average particles size ranging between 0.01 and 3.0 mu m. The deposition or etching is effected depending on an incident angle of the particles to the surface of work. According to the method deposition of the material can be effected with very high deposition rate and in case of etching very smooth etched surface is obtained.
