    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a reception mode at scramble decoding clear. CONSTITUTION:Scramble on/off information of a voice signal and voice mode information are fed to a microcomputer 3 from a PCM demodulation circuit 11. The microcomputer 3 discriminates whether or not scrambling is decoded based on the scramble on/off information in the voice signal. When it is discriminated that the scrambling is decoded, the PCM demodulation circuit 11 is controlled to mute the voice. Moreover, in this case, a display data DCH of a channel and voice mode is supplied to a video signal processing circuit 7 to display the channel and voice mode onto a picture tube 8. Thus, the reception mode at the time of scramble decoding is made clear.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To correctly recognize the state of an equipment by displaying a message showing that a power supply voltage is not supplied to a BS converter, on a display means when a changeover switch is not in an OFF state at the time of newly providing the satellite broadcasting equipment. CONSTITUTION:A control means 20 is provided to supply the power supply voltage from a BS tuner 27 through a signal transmission line 9 to a BS converter 10 and to display a menu function on a display means 18. This control means 20 is equipped with a judging means to judge the ON/OFF state of a switch 21, which regulates supply of the power supply voltage to the BS converter 10, provided in the BS tuner 27 and to judge the presence/absence of a BS broadcasting. When a judging means 20 judges that the switch 21 is in the OFF state and the BS broadcasting is absent, the display means 18 displays that the power supply voltage is not supplied to the BS converter 10. Thus, trouble caused by the mishandling of the changeover switch 21 is prevented.

In such a way, since, when the superimposed program ends or when the user switches channels, a character broadcasting receiving mode or a television receiving mode can be made, the user cannot be confused at the time of the selecting operation of keys.

With a screen display key of a remote control operating means 17 depressed in this state, the computer 13 controls a teletext signal generating circuit 16 to extract a channel number of a teletext broadcast station received at present and gives the number to the circuit 10 via the circuit 16. Thus, the channel number is displayed on the screen of the display means 11.

Thus, the absence of voice from the hook-off of the receiver 2 till the contact to the ear is avoided and smooth talking is applied.

In this way, it is possible to easily recognize the position where the polarizing plane of the antenna coincides with that of the broadcast wave of the receiving channel, even when the signal level of the broadcast wave of the adjacent channel CH1 is large.
