Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a change of posture in the pitching direction and in the rolling direction of a slider in suppressing deformation of a flexure and to evade collision between the slider and a recording medium and tapping of the slider by providing a slider posture control means for restricting a change in posture of the slider. CONSTITUTION:A leaf spring 1 is fixed on a rotary type arm of a magnetic disk device. A tip part of the spring 1 is fixed via the flexure 2 with the slider 4, and a prescribed load of the spring 1 is given to the slider 4 at a load receiving point 21 of the flexure 2. The slider posture control member 5 consisting of SUS and ceramics, etc., is provided, and its acting part is inserted between the slider 4 and the spring 1, so that it is disposed to have a prescribed space above the upper surface of the slider. The member 5 is constituted integrally in a U-shape, where both side parts are formed respectively into a pin-like state, while the middle part into a thin plate state. This thin plate part is welded and fixed on a lower surface of the flexure 2, i.e., in a hatched area E. By this method, the slider 4 having an appropriate degree of freedom in posture against an air pressure is floated above a disk, while a change of posture of the slider 4 due to the flexure 2 is suppressed by the member 5.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability in operation when adjusting skew in a tangential direction.
SOLUTION: An objective lens drive has: a fixed block 10 made of a resin material; a moving block 11 operated at least in focus and tracking directions to the fixed block; a plurality of support springs 26, 26, and the like that connect the fixed and movable blocks and are made of a conductive material; a magnetic circuit 60 for focus adjustment operating the movable block in the focus direction; a magnetic circuit 70 for tracking adjustment operating the movable block in the tracking direction; and a magnetic circuit 50 for tangential skew operating the movable block in a direction for adjusting inclination in the tangential direction. In the fixed block, a fixed section 13, a displacement section 14, and elastic deformation sections 15, 15 are provided integrally. The fixed section 13 is fixed to a moving base. The displacement section 14 is connected to one end of the support springs. The elastic deformation sections 15, 15 connect the fixed section with the displacement section and operate the displacement section in a direction away from and towards a recording surface of a disk-like recording medium to the fixed section.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate fixing of optical components and to suppress resonance by ensuring rigidity by arranging a light source, lenses, and the like, on a frame for holding metallic components, e.g. members for dissipating heat generated from the light source made of synthetic resin through insert molding. SOLUTION: A heat dissipation plate 11 for holding metallic components is made in a frame 1 through insert molding. A light emitting/receiving composite element 2 is arranged fixedly on the heat dissipation plate 11 which conducts heat generated from the light source 4 of the light emitting/receiving composite element 2 and dissipates the heat to the outside of a pickup unit. The heat dissipation plate 11 is held such that the side fringe part thereof faces the outside of the side face part of the frame 1. A system for bending a luminous flux from the light source 4 to pass through mirrors 12, 13 and an objective lens 14 thus focusing the luminous flux on the recording face of a disc is built in the frame 1. Since a biaxial actuator 15 is insert molded for the frame 1, complification and increase in the size of the optical pickup can be avoided.

CONSTITUTION:A flexture 41 as a holding part of the floating magnetic head 40 is provided with a down part 43 having its height H, and from its tip, a lateral side part 44 and a displacement part 45 are provided. A load beam 22 as an arm is provided with a receiving part 48 on its surface opposite to the displacement part 45. A leg part 49 of the receiving part 48 is erected with its height H2 corresponding to the height H of the down part 43. In this floating magnetic head 40, even when there is a difference H1 between a magneto-optical disk 11 and a fitting surface 15 in level, the height H of the down part 43 and the height H2 of the leg part 49 are properly set so as to easily cope with this level difference without changing other parts, and moreover, a floating characteristic of a slider 28 can be improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent changes of a slider posture and optimally hold a floating state by providing a restraining means for limiting maximum displacement against flexure displacement between a suspension and a flexure. CONSTITUTION:The first and second stoppers 15A and 15B of a suspension 2 are inserted into the first and second holes 16A and 16B of a flexure 3 and the L-shaped horizontal parts of the stoppers 15A and 15B are projectingly formed on a tongue piece end 8A and its tip 8B. In this condition the tongue piece 8 of the flexure 3 is brought into contact with the suspension 2 via a load receiving point 9, the end 8A becomes a fixed point and tip 8B becomes free. Here, when the posture of the flexure 3 is greatly changed due to an outside force or an impact, the horizontal parts of the stoppers 15A and 15B are brought into contact with the end and the tip 8A and 8B and become stoppers for limiting displacement more than a spefified amount and in order to prevent deformations due to great displacement of the flexure 3 a floating condition is maintained in a proper posture at the time of loading or unloading.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increasing of a laser noise when the device constitution is miniaturized using a light emitting element having short effective resonator length such as a laser diode by making a position of a light receiving/emitting composite element in which optical devices such as a light emitting element, a light receiving element and a beam splitter are provided on a semiconductor base adjustable in the direction of emitting of luminous flux. SOLUTION: Luminous flux emitted from a laser diode of a light emitting/ receiving composite element 1 installed in a case 9 is converged on a signal recording plane 102 of an optical recording medium 101 by an objective lens 8. When the distance between a light emitting point of the laser diode and the signal recording plane 102 is integer times of effective resonator length of a laser diode, a laser noise is increased. On the other hand, the position of the light receiving/emitting compound element 1 is made adjustable in the direction of luminous flux, and the light receiving/emitting compound element 1 is fixed at a position being almost the middle of two positions at which a laser noise becomes the maximum. Thereby, the position of the receiving/ emitting compound element 1 can be made a position at which a laser noise is less.

SOLUTION: A collimator lens 14 is held in a recessed part of a base 10 a slope is formed on the bottom of the recessed part, and this slope is abutted on the outer peripheral side of the collimator 14 and thereby positioned in the direction perpendicular to that of the optical axis. The collimator 14 is held by an elastic piece of the holding plate 18. A prism mirror 15 is inserted in the recessed part of the base 10 and positioned by the surface of the slope. The prism mirror 15 is held by the elastic piece of the holding plate 18. When the holding plate 18 is fitted on the base 10, a reflection mirror 12, AS correction plate 13, and collimator lens 14 are held together.
