Abstract: The present invention relates to an objective lens driver including: a support base formed of a magnetic material, comprising a base portion, a support shaft projected from the base portion, and a pair of yokes respectively projected in the same direction as the support shaft from both side edges of the base portion and located oppositely to each other with the support shaft therebetween, the yokes having opposed surfaces to which magnets are fitted; and a movable portion supported on the support shaft of the support base so as to be turnable around the axis of the support shaft and slidable in the axial direction of the support shaft, holding an objective lens having an optical axis substantially coinciding with the axial direction of the support shaft, and comprising a focusing coil supplied with a driving current at the time of focusing control of laser light radiated onto a disk type recording medium through the objective lens, and at least a pair of tracking coils supplied with a driving current at the time of tracking control of the laser light, wherein the magnets, the yokes, the base portion, and the support shaft form a magnetic circuit.

Abstract: [Problem] To prevent stacking and to allow a rack to return to the condition of regular threaded engagement with a lead screw without increasing the number of components. [Solution] The present invention is provided with a light source, an objective, an optical element, and an optical element drive device. The optical element drive device is provided with: a lead screw having a threaded engagement portion in which a thread groove is formed; a drive unit for rotating the lead screw; a thrust bearing for receiving, in the axial direction of the lead screw, the end portion of the lead screw on the opposite side from the drive unit side; and a rack having a plurality of first toothed parts provided at intervals in the axial direction and threadably engaged with the threaded engagement portion, and a second toothed part provided farther toward the thrust bearing side in the axial direction than the first toothed parts, and threadably engaged with the threaded engagement portion, the first tooth parts and the second tooth part being positioned on both sides of the lead screw on opposite sides from each other, and the rack being moved in the axial direction along with the rotation of the lead screw; a non-threaded engagement portion devoid of a thread groove being formed at the end portion of the lead screw on the thrust bearing side.

Abstract: Objective lens driver (11) comprises a base part (12) of magnetic material with an extending support shaft (16) and yokes (15) for support of magnets (17). Mounted on the shaft is a moving part (13) that contains the objective lens (22) and focussing coils (24) for focussing of the lens on the recording medium. A pair of slowing-down coils (25) are provided to slow the laser light. The magnets, yokes, base part and support shaft form a magnetic circuit. The invention also relates to a corresponding disk drive device that uses the inventive objective lens driver.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and light pickup with simple constitution by making a laser beam center coincide with a mechanical center by a specified procedure in assembly of an optical pickup. SOLUTION: A laser coupler assembly(LC) 11, a collimate lens 14 and a prism mirror 15 are arranged on a base substrate 20, and a biaxial assembly 29 is temporarily fixed. In this case, the laser diode of the LC 11 is light emitted, and the position of the biaxial assembly 29 is adjusted and fixed so that the light intensity center of the laser beam coincides with an objective lens 16 center. A screw is inserted into an attaching tap 27 from an attaching hole 28, and a shell cover 22 is temporarily fixed to the base substrate 20. Mechanical marks are provided on the outer periphery of a window part 23, and a central point of a mechanical system is displayed at the intersected point between straight lines linking the marks. This central point is made to coincide with the center of the objective lens 16, and the shell cover 22 is fixed to the base substrate 22.

Then, the astigmatic correction plate 7 is fixed to a holder 7a with a cylindrical surface, and is provided with an oblique angle adjustment means turntable around an optical axis. Thus, the astigmatism is adjusted easily and optimally without requiring more man-hour.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance strength and rigidity of a slider holding part and to enhance floating characteristics as well. CONSTITUTION:A load beam 22 as an arm and a flexture 40 as a center spring type holding part are molded separately, and the flexture 40 is fixed to a base part 36 of the load beam 22 by spot welding, etc. An embossed part 44 is provided in approximately the center of a displacement part 41 of the flexture 40, and is in contact with the base part 36. Since the strength and the rigidity of the flexture 40 are higher than the cantilever spring type flexture, even when impact is given to this floating magnetic head 14 during its standby state, plastic deformation of the displacement part 41 can surely be prevented. In addition, since the embossed part 40 becomes a pivot of the slider 28, the floating characteristics are enhanced.
