    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart liquid repellence to a nozzle opening without causing a liquid repellent material to adhere to the liquid chamber side of a nozzle forming member by forming a jet nozzle as a through hole penetrating the nozzle forming member and forming the liquid jet side of a laminate of organic liquid repellent film. SOLUTION: A print head comprises a liquid chamber forming member 31, a diaphragm 32, a laminated piezoelectric element 33, and a nozzle forming member 34 wherein a through hole is made through the nozzle forming member by laser machining in order to form an orifice plate 34 and the liquid chamber forming member 31 is sandwiched by the diaphragm 32 and the nozzle forming member 34 in the direction of thickness. The orifice plate 34 comprises a laminate of an organic material film 34a of a liquid repellent polyimide based material having thickness of 10 μm or more, and a hydrophilic organic material film 34b having surface tension of 40 dyne/cm or more and bonded through an adhesive having a hardening temperature of 180 deg.C or below.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtaining liquid repellency, abrasion processing with an excimer laser and formation of nozzles by a combination of techniques including injection molding by using a polybenzoimidazole as a print head constituting material. SOLUTION: A liquid repellent coat 16 is arranged near at least the opening of a nozzle 1 on the rear face 10b side which becomes the opening surface of the nozzle 1 of an orifice plate member 5, that is a substrate 10, in a print head. In a printer, a liquid repellent coat 16 is arranged across the front face on the rear face 10b side. The liquid repellent coat 16 is preferably made of a polybenzoimidazole. The polybenzoimidazole should have the structure as shown by the formula. In the formula, the sign n is an integer. In addition, the polybenzoimidazole should indicate a water absorbency of 4.0% or less when left alone for 24 hours under a humidity of 76%RH.

SOLUTION: At least the peripheries of the nozzle orifice parts of the printing head of a printer emitting only ink or mixing ink and a dilution liquid to emit them are formed from a polyimide type polymer having fluoroplastic dispersed therein. As fluoroplastic, a tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer resin is pref. As the polyimide type polymer, one formed by polymerization at 300 deg.C or higher or polyimide siloxane is pref. The nozzle forming parts of the printing head is pref. composed of a polyimide type polymer different from the above mentioned polyimide type polymer or polybenzoimidazole. It is pref. to form nozzles by ablation processing using excimer laser.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a nozzle pitch fine by providing a pressurizing means giving pressure via a diaphragm which is composed of a filmy first diaphragm forming layer consisting of material having a specific Young's modulus, and a second diaphragm forming layer having a width and a length which are less than those of a pressurizing chamber. SOLUTION: In an ink jet printing head 10 of an ink jet printer, a base stand 33 to which a plurality of pressure chambers 32 are provided and a diaphragm 34 are stuck onto an orifice plate 31, and a plurality of piezo-electric elements 35 are bonded onto the diaphragm 34 so as to face respectively the pressure chamber 32. The diaphragm 34 is composed of a filmy diaphragm forming layer 34A coating one face 33A of the base stand 33, and a plurality of diaphragm forming layers 34B formed by being divided on the diaphragm forming layer 34A so as to face the pressure chamber 32. A length and a width of the diaphragm forming layer 34B are selected to be less than a length and a width of the pressure chamber 32, and the diaphragm forming layer 34A is made freely displaceable inside each pressure chamber 32.

In the printer, diaphragms 5, 6 are structured by laminating. One layer of the diaphragm 5 covers the whole pressure chamber 3. The remained layer diaphragm 6 is removed by taking a piezoelectric element 7 as a mask, to have almost the same width as that of the piezoelectric element 7.

A second member 5 is packaged with the optical waveguide element 3 and has a main surface 9 perpendicular to the progressing direction of the laser beam. The first member 4 and the second member 5 fix the main surface 8 and the main surface 9 in such a manner that the semiconductor laser element 1 and the optical waveguide element 3 are brought near to each other.

CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser chip 1 generates a basic wave laser beam. An L-shaped fixing member 7 and an adhesive 8 fix and support a heat sink 3 and a wavelength conversion element 6 by aligning the electric field direction of the semiconductor laser chip and the electric field direction of the optical waveguide 4 in such a manner that the optical waveguide 4 exists in proximity to the end face of the semiconductor laser chip 1. The basic wave laser beam is, therefore, guided to the optical waveguide 4.
