Abstract: In order to propose a signal input and output apparatus, like e.g., a camcorder for changing over control depending on a detection result by discriminating the type of signals when signals of two or more types are passed in the same signal line, a signal input and output apparatus comprises signal discrimination changeover means for discriminating the type of control signal through cable, plug and jack, as a transmission path generating a discrimination signal, supplying it to a controller, and changing over the control of a signal processor to the controller on the basis of the discrimination signal, and thereby input and output of plural control signals can be processed through a single transmission path. As a result, by a single jack only, plural signals can be passed on the same transmission path by optimizing the transmission and reception paths and transmission and reception elements, and therefore the parts mounting area can be saved, and states of various types of signals can be detected.

Abstract: A video signal processing apparatus for performing editing of video signals includes a memory (11) into which one field or one frame of a moving picture video signal from a video camera (1) is written and a crossfading circuit (12), wherein a still picture of the video signal is written in the memory (11) at a selected time or at a time the video camera (1) stops operation. Thereafter, when the video camera (1) resumes operation, the contents of the memory (11) are read out, so that the real moving picture video signal being currently provided by the video camera (1) and the previous still picture video signal read out from the memory (11) are crossfaded. The video signal processing apparatus can also cooperate with a video tape recorder (5) for storing in the memory (11) a still picture derived from the video tape recorder (5), so that when the video camera (1) starts its operation, the real moving picture video signal produced by the video camera (1) and a still picture video signal from the memory (11) are crossfaded.

Abstract: A recording device and a recording method capable of recording both of moving picture data and still picture data in such a manner that they can be reproduced by various reproduction devices. The moving picture data is data-compressed by the MPEG method in an MPEG encoder (2), formed into recording data corresponding to a predetermined recording format in a format formation section (3), and recorded in a DVD (100) while the still picture data is data-compressed by the JPEG method in a JPEG encoder (6) and recorded in the DVD (100) separately from the moving picture data. At a predetermined timing, the still picture data which has been data-compressed by the JPEG method and recorded in the DVD (100) is read out and converted into an I picture of the MPEG method in a format conversion section (7). The I picture is recorded in the aforementioned predetermined format in the DVD (100) via the format formation section (3).

SOLUTION: This transmitter 11 transmits a modulated signal obtained by digitally modulating a symbol of a main signal and a symbol of a pilot signal used to compensate nonlinear distortion that occurs on a transmission path at a receiving side by a selection modulation system selected among BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, 16APSK and 32APSK. An energy spreading part 42 selects an initial value associated with the selection modulation system among initial values of a spreading code respectively associated with BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, 16APSK and 32APSK, uses the initial value, generates a spread code and performs energy spreading of the pilot signal. This invention is applicable, for example, to a transmitter for performing BS digital broadcasting.

The VCA 3 controls the amplitude of a signal S1 from the frequency generating circuit 2 in response to the attenuation signal. The operating tone is generated by supplying a signal S4 from the VCA 3 to a speaker 4 with a simple configuration.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a sounding body which saves space and has a high sound pressure level by providing this sounding body with a case block which is capable of depositing and holding a piezoelectric element and is commonly used as a sounding case and a terminal for transmitting an electric signal to this piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:The annular piezoelectric element 11 is mounted and held on the rear surface of an upper plate 10a of a shielding case 10. The spring terminal 12 consisting of a metallic spring is disposed as a HOT side of the signal within a power source block and is formed to a proper shape so as to come into contact with the piezoelectric element 11 disposed on the inner side. This spring terminal 12 is merely necessitated to have a spring property to the extent that the spring is capable of dealing with vibrations at the time of operating a piezoelectric buzzer 17. The shielding case 10 itself is capable of functioning a sounding block (device) in the state that this sounding body is perfected as a power source block. The space constituting the piezoelectric buzzer 17 suffices with the packaging space of the thickness (about 200mum) of the piezoelectric element 11.
