    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to lessen both of the wear and uneven wear of an MR head by using a magnetic tape having a base material for which polyethylene terephthalate is used as a recording medium and using a magneto- resistive(MR) head element of a shielding type formed by using NiZn ferrite as a shielding material as a magnetic head element for reproduction. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording and reproducing device 1 is constituted to draw out the magnetic tape T from a tape cassette 6, to allow the magnetic tape T to travel in a state of wrapping the magnetic tape T around the outer peripheral surface of a rotary magnetic head device 10 along a guide pin 5 and to execute recording and reproducing of magnetic signals on the traveling magnetic tape T by the rotary magnetic head device 10. The polyethylene terephthalate is used as the base material of the magnetic tape T to be used as the recording medium and the MR magnetic head element of the shielding type by using the Ni/Zn ferrite is used as the magnetic head element for reproduction.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effective suppress wear of magnetic head element and damage of magnetic tape to obtain higher output by arranging the end part of a magnetic head element in the rotating drum side in such a manner as facing to the external side from the circumference surface of the device body and varying the amount of projection of the end part of the magnetic head element from the device body. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric ceramic 24 is expanded or contracted when a voltage is impressed because barium titanate, for example, is formed like a plate. The piezoelectric ceramic 24 is arranged within a head accommodating area 11 under the condition that the base send side thereof is mounted to a rotating drum 3 and the end face side supports a head supporting plate 23 on which a magnetic head element 20 is mounted. When a voltage is applied to the piezoelectric ceramic 24, the piezoelectric ceramic 24 is expanded toward the external circumference side of the rotating drum 3. Thereby, the magnetic head element 20 moves toward the external side of the rotating drum 3 via the head supporting plate 23 and position of the end face part is varied to the second position P2 from the first position P1.

SOLUTION: A deck part (unit) 2 is mounted detachably to a streamer main body 1e. The deck part 2 is mounted when a user inserts the deck part 2 in a Y1 direction to an insertion opening 1b of the main body 1e, and the deck part can be detached when the user takes out the deck part in a Y2 direction. The deck part 2 has rails 2c and 2d at side faces. The rails 2c, 2d are meshed with groove-like rail receivers 1c, 1d of the main body 1e via a slight gap when the deck part 2 is inserted to the main body 1e. Even the user without expert knowledge can easily exchange the deck part 2 when a magnetic head ends its life.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotary magnetic head in which the size and the cost can be reduced even if a plurality of reproduction heads are provided by receiving a reproduction signal from a rotor reproduction signal wiring section at a noncontact reproduction signal wiring section provided for a stator. SOLUTION: Signal transmission channels CH1-CH4 are arranged annularly around respective shafts 5 on the inner surface of a stator core 20 and a rotor core 30. The wiring parts forming these channels CH1-CH4 are formed by winding an ordinary insulated wire annularly. When the coil 7 of the stator MS in a motor M is conducted, the rotor MR, the shaft 5, the flange 2a and the rotary drum 2 of the motor M and the rotor core 30 of a rotary transformer T are turned relative to the stator drum 1 and the stator core 20. The rotor core 30 and the stator core 20 ate disposed oppositely without touching each other.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize regenerative signals outputted from a reproducing head by a method wherein a bias current given to the reproducing head of a magnetoresistance element of a rotary drum is controlled in intensity corresponding to the degree of abrasion of the reproducing head. SOLUTION: A bias current control means 200 has a function to control a bias current value BCD given to a reproducing head RH so as to make the output RST of regenerative signals RS of a reproducing amplifier 43 connected to the reproducing head RH of a magnetoresistance element. Therefore, when a bias current is varied by abrasion of the head, the output RST of regenerative signals RS obtained through reproducing amplifiers 43 and 43c is changed. A gain control 41a controls the since wave gain of an oscillator 41 corresponding to a change in the output RST of the regenerative signals RS, and a control signal CSS is sent to a bias current circuit 201 at a point P1 , whereby the voltage BCU of the reproducing head RH can be set variable so as to make the output RST of the regenerative signals RS optimal.

SOLUTION: The positional relation of both heads is set so that a recording head RH- precedes a recording head RH+ and the recording head RH+ is shifted upward from the recording head RH- by a prescribed width on a rotating drum. In this case, the head width of the recording head RH+ is made to be almost the same size as a stipulated track pitch in advance and the head width of the recording head RH- is set so as to be larger than the track pitch and smaller than the two times. Consequently, the accuracy of a track pitch depends upon the head width of the recording head RH+ and the accuracy of an overwrite width W2 of the recording head RH+ to the recording head RH- is able to be ignored.
