Abstract: PURPOSE: To shorten an access time and to reduce the power consumption by controlling the rotational speed of a spindle motor so that the rotational speed of a disk shaped storage medium become higher as compared with a speculated standard rotational speed. CONSTITUTION: Frequency-dividing ratios M and N of frequency-dividing circuits 42, 43 are set so as to correspond to laser beam irradiating positions by a system control circuit 41 and the rotational speed is changed by frequency- dividing ratios M and N recorded in a frequency-dividing ratio table 46 so as to correspond to the laser beam irradiating positions. Consequently, the rotational speed of a CD-ROM 2 is successively changed from a quadruple speed to a sextuple speed toward from an innermost peripheral to an outermost peripheral. Thus, since the variable range of the rotational speed is reduced as compared with that in the case of a CLV method and a time required for changing over the rotational speed is shortened by the amount, a seek time is shortened and also the power consumption is reduced.

CONSTITUTION:An input signal I from an input terminal 1 is outputted to a subtractor 2, and a part of an output signal O from an output terminal 7 is fed back to the subtractor 2. The subtractor 2 subtracts the output signal O from the input signal I and outputs the result to an adder 3. The adder 3 adds the output from the subtractor 2 and a disturbance N (t) from an input terminal 4 and outputs the result to an adder 5. The adder 5 adds the signal inputted from a D/A converter 11 and the output of the adder 3 and outputs the result to a gain controlled amplifier 6. This amplifier 6 multiplies the output signal from the adder 5 by a gain G and outputs the output signal O. A part of the error signal from the sub-tractor 2 is multiplied in a gain controlled amplifier 8 by a gain C+1 and is converted by an A/D converter 9, and data is operated by a CPU 10 and is outputted as data which sets the operation center of automatic control.

SOLUTION: Skew control processing is executed at every predetermined interruption timing, and as variables to be used, there are a skew error signal total value, a count value of FG pulses, and an average value of skew error signals, and an upper and an lower limit values for which an appropriate skew error range is set are used. Ordinary processing is executed once a rotation, and the skew control is executed at a timing when a rotated angle position of the disk takes a specific position. In the case of a double-speed, the processing is executed every two rotations, for a quadruple speed, every four rotations, and for an octuple speed, every eight rotations, and even if the disk speed is increased, the skew operation is properly executed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of reproducing recorded data correctly even though an area where the reliability of data is low is generated at a specific position being on a disk where a synchronizing signal is to be recorded. SOLUTION: The comparison error signal between the reproduced RF signal read out from a disk 100 and a channel clock signal PLCK is inputted from a phase/frequency comparing part 12 to a voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) 15, which generates a PLCK with a frequency in accordance with the voltage of the comparison error signal. In a data detecting part 16, data are taken out from the reproduced RF signal. When a sync pattern is detected from the data correctly in a sync pattern detecting and interpolating part 17, the comparison error signal is inputted to the VCO 15 as it is and when it is not detected correctly, a sample-and-hold part 14 holds the voltage of the comparison error signal by a control signal from a control part 20. At this time, the sync pattern interpolating operation of the sync pattern detecting and interpolating part 17 is suspended.
