    Abstract: Apparatus and methods for electrospinning and/or electrospray are disclosed. The apparatus and methods are provided for electrospinning of fibre, or deposition of droplets on a surface by electrospraying. The apparatus comprises: a band tensioned between first and second rollers and curved around the rollers, an electric field generator for providing an electric field between an electrospinning zone at the first roller and a counter electrode, and a bath for containing liquid arranged to wet the band or regions of the band as it passes around the second roller. The band is arranged to transport liquid from the bath to the electrospinning zone for the production of fibres in said zone. The electric field generator may be arranged to provide an electric field between the counter electrode and the surface of the band where it is curved around the first roller.

    Abstract: An improved racket is provided, for tennis and similar games, which incorporates a means for adjusting the string tension so that a proper tension may be maintained at all times when the racket is in use, and so that the tension of the strings of the racket may be relieved when the racket is not in use. The racket includes a resilient frame with an elongated handle attached to one end. The frame has a looped head portion with holes extending around its periphery to accommodate the strings. One string is mounted on the frame in a series of lateral passes extending across the area circumscribed by the head portion of the frame, a second string is mounted on the frame in a series of passes which extend vertically across the circumscribed area. Two plastic-encased metal arms are mounted to extend partially around both lower sides of the head portion of the frame. Appropriate grooves are formed in the plastic casing of the arms, and the lower ends of the vertical passes are looped around these arms. The ends of the arms are attached to an adjusting means which serves to pull the vertical passes into tension, thereby producing a compressive load on the frame of the racket. The frame then extends its lateral dimension to redistribute the load and produce equalizing tension on the lateral passes.

    Abstract: An improved racket is provided, for tennis and similar games, which incorporates a means for adjusting the string tension so that a proper tension may be maintained at all times when the racket is in use, and so that the tension of the strings of the racket may be relieved when the racket is not in use.     Abstract: In a dead axle wheel assembly having a hub and bearings mounted on a threaded spindle and held there by lock nuts to rotatably support a vehicle whee l, a safety lock comprising a sleeve, closed at an outer end and open at an inner end, the s leeve of a size, when in position secured to the spindle, to sit on and cover the outer e nd of the spindle with the sleeve's inner end spaced from it the lock nuts, and means asso ciated with the closed end of the sleeve to secure the sleeve to the other end of the s pindle, whereby, when in position on the spindle, the inner end of the sleeve is located to obstruct the lock nuts, if they become loosened, to keep them from disassociating from th e spindle. This safety lock provides a simple but effective construction for maintaining th e integrity of a dead axle wheel assembly.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for sorting items with a significant variance in size. This equipment utilises a series of paddle-style blades to convert a randomised array of conveyor-fed items first into a plurality of organised linear, one-by-one flows as is often required for machine-vision inspection, and secondly delivers elements of said flow into graded categories. In one embodiment, this system sorts skeins of herring roe, but the singulation stage may be used with equal utility on other product, especially where such product displays a wide variance in size. In said one embodiment, skeins are dumped, or otherwise delivered onto a conveyor, table, or other receiving surface. A first singulation stage of said apparatus divides, linearises, and separates a flow of said skeins so that said skeins are arranged lengthwise and conveyed onto a plurality of narrow inspection conveyors, through a grading station and onward to ejection stations. Said ejection stations employ air nozzles utilising the coanda effect to selectively remove said items from said narrow inspection conveyors. By utilising said air nozzles, a required separation between said items is minimised and solenoids controlling said air-flow may be mounted remotely and operate on a low volume of high-pressure air. Overall, gentle handling of a product being sorted is ensured.
