Abstract: A magnesium alloy material having excellent impact resistance is provided. The magnesium alloy material is composed of a magnesium alloy that contains more than 7.5% by mass of Al and has a Charpy impact value of 30 J/cm 2 or more. Typically, the magnesium alloy material has an elongation of 10% or more at a tension speed of 10 m/s in a high-speed tensile test. The magnesium alloy is composed of a precipitate, typically made of an intermetallic compound containing at least one of Al and Mg, and contains particles having an average particle size of 0.05 µm or more and 1 µm or less dispersed therein. The total area of the particles accounts for 1 % by area or more and 20% by area or less. The magnesium alloy material containing fine precipitate particles dispersed therein has high impact absorption capacity through dispersion strengthening and has excellent impact resistance.

Abstract: A conductive paste is disclosed which exhibits high conductivity even when sintered at 500˚C or less and enables to form a thick film on a base without forming an interference fringe or a crack in the base. The conductive paste mainly contains a metal powder, a glass frit and an organic vehicle. The metal powder is composed of 50-99 weight% of spherical particles having an average primary particle diameter of 0.1-1 mum and 1-50 weight% of spherical particles having an average primary particle diameter of 50 nm or less. The glass frit is contained in the conductive paste in an amount of 0.1-15 weight% relative to the total weight of the glass frit and the metal powder. Preferably, the glass frit contains no lead, has a working temperature of 500˚C or less, and has an average particle diameter of 2 mum. This conductive paste is often printed and sintered on a substrate for forming an electrical circuit on the substrate.

Abstract: A magnesium alloy sheet is made of a magnesium alloy containing Al. Particles of an intermetallic compound containing at least one of Al and Mg are present in the sheet in a dispersed state. The sheet includes an oxide film which extends substantially over the surface of the sheet and which has a uniform thickness. The average size of the particles of the intermetallic compound is 0.5 µm or less. The percentage of the total area of the particles is 11 % or less. Therefore, the magnesium alloy sheet is excellent corrosion resistance. A magnesium alloy structural member is provided.

Abstract: A magnesium alloy structural member having excellent corrosion resistance is provided. The magnesium alloy structural member includes a magnesium alloy substrate that contains more than 7.5% by mass ofAl and an anticorrosive layer formed on a surface of the substrate by chemical conversion treatment. The substrate contains a precipitate, typically, particles dispersed therein. The particles are made of an intermetallic compound containing at least one of Al and Mg and have an average particle size of 0.05 µm or more and 1 µm or less. The total area of the particles accounts for 1% by area or more and 20% by area or less. The anticorrosive layer includes a lower sublayer and a surface sublayer on the substrate in this order. The surface sublayer is denser than the lower sublayer. The substrate of the magnesium alloy structural member has high corrosion resistance because of a high Al content. The magnesium alloy structural member has excellent corrosion resistance because of the dense sublayer on the front side of the anticorrosive layer, which prevents a corrosive liquid from reaching the substrate. The porous lower sublayer can reduce the tendency of the anticorrosive layer to detach from the substrate, for example, upon impact and allows the magnesium alloy structural member to retain high corrosion resistance.

Abstract: Conductive past used when a wiring circuit is formed on a board, and a wiring board obtained by using the conductive paste. Since conductive paste formed by scattering metal powder and glass frit into an organic vehicle is spread onto a board by screen printing or the like and then is dried and sintered to be able to form a good-conductivity wiring circuit, it is widely used in electronic apparatus components. This paste poses problems that high contents of metal powder and glass frit with respective to the entire conductive paste will increase the viscosity of the conductive paste, for example, decrease the discharge amount of conductive paste through openings in a screen printing plate at screen printing, and that low contents will increase shrinkage at drying and sintering. The above problems are resolved by conductive paste having the above contents of at least 85 wt.%, and a viscosity of 100 through 400Pa·s when measured with an E type rotary viscosimeter at 25°C at a rotation speed of 1 rpm.
