Abstract: A nozzle assembly includes at least one nozzle (1) for the injection of liquid moistening medium into a flow of flue gas, especially in view of cooling the flue gas, and a body (2) for directing the moistening medium to the nozzle. Nozzle (1) and body (2) are essentially disposed in a flue-gas flow duct or the like. In the flue-gas flow duct is fitted a housing (3) which essentially surrounds nozzle (1) and body (2). Housing (3) ia provided with an an aperture (10), which can be closed by a closing means (9) and through which a jet of moistening medium passes into a flow of flue gas.

By feeding the pulverous reagent and the water separately into the reactor 4, the problems involved in the preparing, handling and spraying of an aqueous slurry are avoided, in addition to which the retention time and the reaction conditions can be regulated easily in the oblong reactor 4.

Abstract: The process and device can be used for removing of gaseous sulphur compounds in particular sulphur dioxide present in the flue gasses, in the form of solid compounds - sulphates and sulphites. The flue gasses (16), containing sulphur dioxide, are fed into one end of an oblong reaction zone (4), into which pulverous calcium compounds and water are separately fed at several points along the reaction zone, and from its opposite end a flue gas and solid compounds suspension is withdrawn, said suspension being directed to dust separation (5). The problems, involved in the preparing handling and spraying of an agueous slurry, are avoided by feeding of the pulverous reagent and the water separately into the reactor (4), the reaction conditions and the retentation time in the oblong reactor (4) can be regulated easily.
