    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition containing a large amount of calcium carbonate having specific particle diameter, not, containing aggregate particles, having high whiteness, hardly becoming yellowish color, excellent in hiding power and capable of providing white film excellent in hiding power. SOLUTION: In this composition, a polyester contains >50wt.% calcium carbonate having 0.05-5.0μm average particle diameter and comprises an ethylene terephthalate having at least 80mol% of recurring unit and a ratio of P content to Ca content in the particles separated from the polyester by a prescribed method is 0.002-0.05. Furthermore, e.g. a method for adding o-chlorophenol to the polyester, dissolving the polyester into o-chlorophenol at 150 deg.C under stirring, cooling the solution to 25 deg.C, adding acetone to the resultant separated particles and similarly repeating ultra-centrifugation is preferably used as the method for separating particles from the polyester.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester for heat-sensitive stencil printing base paper, comprising an acid component composed of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, etc., and a glycol component composed of an aliphatic glycol, etc., having a specific melting point, excellent in perforating properties by heat and brightness in printing and useful for facsimile, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyester comprises a principal acid component composed of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and/or an alicyclic dicarboxylic acid (preferably terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid or 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid) and a principal glycol component composed of a 6-10C aliphatic glycol and/or a 6-l6C alicyclic glycol (preferably 1,6-hexandiol or 1,4- cyclohexandimethanol) and has 100-220 deg.C (preferably 150-200 deg.C) melting point. Furthermore, a titanium compound is preferably used as a reaction catalyst in an amount of 0.001-0.05wt.% based on the resultant polyester.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an easily adhering film which has excellent adhesion and anti-blocking properties, and also can be applied as a base film such as a magnetic recording material by laminating a specific watersoluble copolymerized polyester as an easily adherable layer on the one surface of a polyester film. CONSTITUTION:A specific water-soluble copolymerized polyester is laminated as an easily adhering layer on the one surface of a polyester film to constitute an easily adhering polyester film. In this case, the water-soluble copolymerized polyester is composed of higher than 50mol% of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid component and 5 to 50mol% of an ester-forming alkali metal sulfonate and glycol component. Further, the 2,2' bis(4'-hydroxyphenyl)propane derivative shown in a separately described formula is copolymerized by a ratio of 5 to 90mol% for a total glycol component (in the formula, R is a divalent hydrocarbon group and R' is phenylene. In addition, m, n are an integer of 1 or higher respectively and m+n is an integer of 2 or higher).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a polyester composition having excellent transparency and antistaticity by compounding a sulfonate metal soft compound and a specific metal element in speficied amounts, respectively with a polyester.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To inhibit the sedimentation and agglomeration of particles and the deterioration of the color tone of a polymer, and to improve the whiteness, by adding a specific slurry at an arbitrary stage during the reaction of a dicarboxylic acid (derivatives capable of forming esters) with ethylene glycol. CONSTITUTION:10-80wt.% CaCO3 (a) having a mean particle diameter of 0.05-5mum, preferably 0.2-2mum, is dispersed in ethylene glycol (b), and the dispersion is subjected to heat treatment at 50 deg.C - the boiling point, preferably 70-150 deg.C to obtain an ethylene glycol slurry (C) containing the components (a). While a dicarboxylic acid (derivatives capable of forming esters) (A) (e.g., dimethyl terephthalate) is reacted with ethylene glycol (B), and the component (C) is added at an arbitrary stage of the reaction of the components (A) and (B) with the amount of the component (C) such that the content of the component (b) of the polyester which will be obtained will be 5-60wt.%, thereby producing the polyester. The obtained polyester is molded into a sheet, stretched biaxially 2.5-4.0-fold respectively and thermally fixed at 150 deg.C or over, thereby producing a white polyester film having a density of 0.90-1.38g/cm .

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antistatic polyester fiber having a good antistatic property and capable of being dyed into various kinds of colors by forming a sheath component having a specific thickness and containing a matting agent on the periphery of a core component containing an antistatic agent and a matting agent. SOLUTION: This antistatic polyester fiber is a sheath-core type conjugate antistatic polyester fiber. Therein, the core component contains a matting agent such as titanium dioxide in an amount of 0.6-10 wt.% and an antistatic agent such as a blocked polyetheramide containing 1-10 wt.% of R-SO3M groups [R is an 8-15C alkyl; M is an alkali (earth) metal] in an amount of 0.2-3 wt.% based on the total weight of the fiber.
