Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled water-soluble bundling agent having excellent ability to bundle inorganic fiber and capable of increasing the compatibility with matrix materials by composing the agent essentially of a water-soluble polyamide which can be obtained by condensation-polymerizing a dibasic acid having a nitrogen functional group and a dibasic acid. CONSTITUTION:The bundling agent consists essentially of a water-soluble polyamide which can be obtained by condensation-polymerizing a dibasic acid having a nitrogen functional group and a dicarboxylic acid. A monomer contg. a tertiary amino group in the main chain such as N-N'-bis(gamma-aminopropyl)piperazine having a piperazine ring is preferably used as the dibasic acid. And adipic acid can be cited as the dicarboxylic acid. Said water-soluble polyamide can be a copolymer. Lactams such as alpha-pyrrolidone and omega-laurolactam can be exemplified as the components of the copolymer. The amt. of the bundling agent to be deposited on the inorganic fiber is regulated to about 1-20wt% as the solid component of the polymer.
