    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a mercury vapor discharge lamp and a lighting system using this lamp, which suppresses deterioration of a fluorescent material caused by receiving a 185nm ultraviolet ray and enhances a luminous flux maintenance factor. CONSTITUTION: In a mercury vapor discharge lamp in which a fluorescent material film 2 is formed on the inside of a bulb 1, the fluorescent material film is formed with a fluorescent material which emits light by absorbing mainly a 254nm ultraviolet ray, and a protection layer 10 made of a composite metal oxide which absorbs a l85nm ultraviolet ray but transmits a 254nm ultraviolet ray, and does not emit light even if it absorbs the 185nm ultraviolet ray is formed on a discharge space side of the fluorescent material film. Since the protection layer 10 absorbs the 185nm ultraviolet ray to prevent the transmission of it, deterioration of the fluorescent material layer caused by receiving the 185nm ultraviolet ray is prevented. Since the protection layer 10 has no self deterioration by the 185nm ultraviolet ray and protects the fluorescent layer from the 185nm ultraviolet ray, a luminous maintenance factor is enhanced for a long time.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To save an energy consumption and to prolong the service life of an electric discharge lamp by impressing a low voltage for maintaining discharging for a prescribed time and repeating this operation intermittently after starting lit up with a high voltage. CONSTITUTION:A voltage signal is generated with a prescribed timing from a timer 12 connected to a battery 11. With a signal V1 of 1, a self-traveling multivibrator 15 outputs the voltage signal for a constant time at a prescribed period and a voltage amplifier 16 gives the high voltage sufficient to re-ignite a fluorescent lamp 18. The self-travelling multivibrator 15 outputs a prescribed time voltage signal with a same prescribed period, a delaying circuit 17 delays for a constant time from the voltage signal of a vibrator 13, and the voltage amplifier 16 generates the low voltage to the extent to be able to discharge and maintain with the fluorescent lamp 18 for a prescribed time and adds it to the fluorescent lamp. By this constitution, the energy consumption can be saved and the service life of the fluorescent lamp can be prolonged.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent lighting circuit components stored in a cover from being damaged by heat and extend their lives by forming a metallic thin film on the outer surface of the cover of a fluorescent lamp device. CONSTITUTION:A metallic thin film 25 with excellent heat conductivity such as aluminum is formed on the outer surface of the cover 1 of a fluorescent lamp device. The heat of the cover 1 is discharged to the outside by the heat radiating action of the metallic thin film 25. In this case, a heat radiating paint film 26 such as a white paint is formed on the outer surface of the metallic thin film 25, this film 26 dissolves the luster of the thin film 25 and further improves the heat radiation property of the thin film 25. The heat of the cover 1 is satisfactorily discharged to the outside. The temperature rise in the cover 1 is thereby suppressed, the thermal adverse effect on lighting circuit components 12 and 13 is mitigated, the lighting circuit components are prevented from being damaged by heat, and their lives can be extended.

As a result, when the acceleration α found in the speed/ acceleration change means 10A is judged to be larger than the swing alarm acceleration, a buzzer ring command 13 is given to an excessive load detection buzzer device 7 by a swing alarm process means 10D. Passenger's caution and alarm are thus drawn by ringing of the buzzer.
