Abstract: Un generador electroquirurgico tiene un diseño mejorado para generar formas de onda de onda de salida usando un microprocesador; las formas de onda son generadas en forma de una salida digital en serie del microprocesador; la salida digital en serie se transforma a una salida electroquirurgica de radio frecuencia en una etapa amplificadora; el diseño mejorado incluye también un circuito para monitorear para monitorear continuamente la salida digital en serie promediando en tiempo la salida y comparar después ese valor por un umbral; el generador electroquirurgico comprendeun microprocesador, un algoritmo en el microprocesador capaz de conmutar una puerta de salida del microprocesador un amplificador, un suministro de energía de corriente directa y alto voltaje ajustable; el circuito al paciente incluyendo un electrodo activo y un electrodo de retorno; el generador electroquirurgico puede comprender además un selector de modos para seleccionar uno de una multitud de patrones de pulso en la salida digital en serie y una multitud de secuencias de mando en el algoritmo, en donde cada secuencia de mando está diseñada para producir uno de un multitud de patrones; puede haber también un circuito amortiguador de tanquepara reducir la amplitud de los picos de voltaje en la salida electroquirurgica y un circuito de supresion de pulsos; el circuito para monitorear comprende un filtro de paso bajo y un comparador para verificar la operacion del generador de formas de ondas.
