    Abstract: A process for the preparation of a 2,2-disubstituted pentane-1,5-diamine of the formula I (see formula I) where R1 and R2, independently of one another, are C1- to C10-alkyl or C2- to C10-alkenyl or together are a C4- to C7- alkylene chain which is unsubstituted or monosubstituted to pentasubstituted by C1- to C4-alkyl, from a 2,2-di- substituted 4-cyanobutanal of the formula II (see formula II) where R1 and R2 are as defined above, comprises, in two spatially separate reaction spaces, a) reacting the 4-cyanobutanal of the formula II, in a first reaction space, with excess ammonia on an acidic heterogeneous catalyst at from 20 to 150.degree.C and at from 15 to 500 bar, and b) hydrogenating the resultant reaction product, in a second reaction space, using excess hydrogen in the presence of excess ammonia on a catalyst containing cobalt, nickel, ruthenium and/or another noble metal, if desired with a basic component or on a basic or neutral carrier, at from 60 to 150.degree.C and at from 50 to 500 bar. 2,2-Disubstituted pentane- 1,5-diamines of the formula I' (see formula III) where R1' and R2', independently of one another, are C1- to C10-alkyl or C2- to C10-alkenyl or together are a C4- to C7-alkylene chain which is unsubstituted or monosubstituted to pentasubstituted by C1-to C4-alkyl, with the proviso that R1' and R2' are not simultaneously methyl are also described.

    Abstract: of the disclosure: a process for preparing unsaturated amines of the general formula I (I), where R1,R2,R3,R4,R5 are hydrogen, C1- to C20-alkyl, C2- to C20-a1kenY1, C3- to C8-cycloalkyl, C3- to C8-cycloalkenyl, phe~nyl, C7- to C20-phenyl-alkyl, C1- to C20-alkoxy, phenoxy, C7- to C20-phenoxyalkyl, C1- to C20-alkylamino, phenylamino, C7- to C20-phenylalkylamino, pyridyl or imidazolyl, or R1 and R2 or R1 and R3 or R2 and R3 together are a C2- to C8-alkylene which is unsubtituted or monosubstituted to pentasubstituted by C1to C4-alkyl or unsubstituted or monosubstituted to tetrasubstituted by amino, N-C1- to C8-alkylamino, N,N-C1- to C8-di-alkylamino, hydroxyl, O-C1- to C8-alkyl-amino and/or C1- to C8-alkoxycarbonyl, and X is =C-N(R4R5) or -C=N-R4, by reacting 2-alkenals of the general formula II (II), where R1, R2 and R3 have the abovementioned meanings, with primary or secondary amines of the general formula III ( III ), where R4 and R5 have the abovementioned meanings, at from (-20) to 70.degree.C and pressures from 0.01 to 100 bar, by carrying out the reaction without removing the water of reaction and transaminating the product to give the compounds I' and hydrogenating the latter to give novel 1,3-diamines of the general formula IV (IV), where R1,R2,R3,R4,R5,R6,R7 are hydrogen, C1- to C20-alkyl, C2- to C20-alkenyl, C3- to C8-cycloalkyl, C3- to C8-cycloalkenyl, phenyl, C7- to C20-phenylalkyl, C1- to C20-alkoxy, phenoxy, C7- to C20-phenoxyalkyl, C1- to C20-alkylamino, phenylamino, C7- to C20-phenylalkylamino, pyridyl or imidazolyl, or R1 and R2 or R1 and R3 or R2 and R3 together are a C2- to C8-alkylene which is unsubtituted or monosubstituted to pentasubstituted by C1- to C4-alkyl or unsubstituted or monosubstituted to tetrasubstituted by amino, N-C1- to C8-alkylamino, N,N-C1- to C8-dialkylamino, hydroxyl, O-C1- to C8-alkylamino and/or C1- to C8-alkoxycarbonyl, with the proviso that R1 and R2 are not hydrogen if R3 is methyl and R4 and R5, R6 and R7 are in each case hydrogen or methyl, R4 and R6 are hydrogen and R5 and R7 are ethyl and also R4 and R5, R6 and R7 are in each case together (CH2)5 or (CH2)2-O-(CH2)2, is disclosed.

    Abstract: The invention relates to novel 2,2-dialkylpentane 1,5-diisocyanates, 2,2-dialkylpentane-1,5-diurethanes and 2,2-dialkylpentane-1,5-dicarbamoyl chlorides of the formula in which R , R denote identical or different linear C1- to C12-alkyl radicals, branched C3- to C12-alkyl radicals, branched C2- to C12-alkenyl radicals, branched C4- to C12-alkenyl radicals or the radicals R and R together denote an alkylene group having 4 to 7 C atoms which is unsubstituted or substituted by one to 5 C1- to C4-alkyl groups and X denotes an NCO-, NH-CO2R -, NHCO2R - or NHCOCl- group, in which R and R are identical or different and denote a linear C1- to C20-alkyl radical, a branched C3- to C20-alkyl radical or a C5- to C12-cycloalkyl radical. The 2,2-dialkylpentane-1,5-diurethanes are, for example, pest control agents and are suitable, as are the 2,2-dialkylpentane-1,5-dicarbamoyl chlorides, for example, for the preparation of 2,2-dialkylpentane 1,5-diisocyanates, which in turn are used for the preparation of compact or cellular plastics by the polyisocyanate polyaddition process.
