Abstract: A polycarbonate composition comprising: a polycarbonate comprising a homopolycarbonate, a poly(ester-carbonate-siloxane), a poly(aliphatic ester-carbonate), a poly(ester-carbonate-siloxane), a brominated polycarbonate, a poly(ester-carbonate), or a combination thereof and optionally, a poly(phthalate-carbonate); a poly(carbonate-siloxane) present in an amount effective to provide 1-10 wt % total siloxane, based on the total weight of the composition; 11-25 wt % of a reinforcing composition comprising 10-24 wt % glass fibers, and 1-10 wt % mineral filler comprising talc, kaolin, calcium carbonate, wollastonite, or a combination thereof; optionally, an organophosphorous flame retardant in amount effective to provide up to 1.5 wt % phosphorous; optionally, up to 10 wt % additive composition, wherein each amount is based on the total weight of the polycarbonate composition, which sums to 100 wt %.

Abstract: Disclosed are an aging-resistant rubber composition and methods for processing and use thereof. The rubber composition includes a rubber matrix and compounding components. In parts by weight, every 100 parts of rubber matrix comprise 50-99 parts of a halogenated butyl rubber, 0-50 parts of a highly branched polyethylene P1, and 0-50 parts of P2 obtained by the polarization modification of said highly branched polyethylene P1. The sum of P1 and P2 in parts by weight is 1-50 parts; and the compounding components comprise a vulcanization system.

Abstract: A thermoplastic resin composition includes: about 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin; about 0.1 parts by weight to about 1.5 parts by weight of a first rubber-modified vinyl graft copolymer including a diene rubber polymer having an average particle diameter of about 50 nm to about 200 nm; about 0.1 parts by weight to about 1.5 parts by weight of a second rubber-modified vinyl graft copolymer including a diene rubber polymer having an average particle diameter of about 250 nm to about 400 nm; about 0.1 parts by weight to about 1.5 parts by weight of a silicone rubber-modified vinyl graft copolymer; about 3 parts by weight to about 15 parts by weight of a phosphazene compound; and about 0.05 parts by weight to about 0.3 parts by weight of an alkali (earth) metal salt of perfluoroalkylsulfonic acid. The thermoplastic resin composition can exhibit good properties in terms of flame retardancy, chemical resistance (post-plating impact resistance), impact resistance, heat resistance, and balance therebetween.

At thicknesses of from about 0.4 to about 3.2 millimeters, the composition exhibits a Glow Wire Ignition Temperature of about 775° C. or more as determined in accordance with IEC-60695-2-13:2010; a Glow Wire End Product Temperature (without flame) of about 750° C. or more as determined in accordance with IEC-60335-1:2010; a Glow Wire Flammability Index of about 850° C. or more as determined in accordance with IEC-60695-2-12:2010; a V0 rating as determined in accordance with UL94; and/or a comparative tracking index of about 550 volts or more as determined in accordance with IEC 60112:2003.

Abstract: A composition and a manufacturing method of a highly flame-retardant and low-smoke extruded polyvinyl chloride pipe are provided. The composition includes a polyvinyl chloride resin material, a flame retardant additive and a carbon forming additive. The polyvinyl chloride resin material is in an amount between 10 PHR (parts per hundred resin) and 90 PHR. The flame retardant additive is in an amount between 0.5 PHR and 2.0 PHR, and is a phosphorus-containing flame retardant modified by a modifier. The carbon forming additive is in an amount between 0.2 PHR and 1.0 PHR. The carbon forming additive is at least one material selected from a group consisting of zinc chloride, zinc stearate, calcium stearate, zinc hydroxystannate, anhydrous zinc stannate, zinc phosphate and zirconium phosphate. A total added amount of the flame retardant additive and the carbon forming additive in the composition is not greater than 3 PHR.

Abstract: A first composition is disclosed that includes a fire-resistant thermoplastic resin. The fire-resistant thermoplastic resin includes 1-20 wt % of an aryl phosphate, includes 1-20 wt % of a phosphate polymer, and 60%-98% of a (meth)acrylic polymer, including units from at least one monomer, wherein the monomer is chosen from methyl methacrylate, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylic acid esters, methacrylic acid esters, acrylonitrile and maleic anhydride. The first composition may further include a fabric or a composite material that is embedded with the fire-resistant thermoplastic resin. In some instances, the aryl-phosphate and the phosphonate polymer synergistically reduce an effective heat of combustion, a peak heat release, or a flame time as compared to a second composition that contains only one of the aryl phosphate or the phosphonate polymer.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a flame retardant and antistatic regenerated polyester wig fiber and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the field of simulated wig technology. A composite flame retardant composed of poly(sulfonyldiphenylene phenylphosphonate) (PSPPP), a derivative of 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO-FT), and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide triphosphonitrile (DOPO-TPN), and biomass-derived graphene are subjected to a re-polymerization reaction with an alcoholysis product BHET of a waste PET bottle flake, respectively to obtain an in-situ modified flame retardant regenerated masterbatch and an antistatic regenerated polyester masterbatch. The masterbatches are blended and melt-spun with regenerated polyester, so that the obtained wig fiber has good flame retardant property, better flame retardant coefficient and antistatic property, and a significant antibacterial effect, thereby increasing the safety of the wig. The recycled and regenerated polyester from the PET bottle is utilized, effectively reducing environmental pollution caused by waste polyester, and contributing to resource conservation and sustainable development.
