Abstract: A method for operating a linear compressor is provided. The method includes estimating an acceleration of the motor of the linear compressor using at least a robust integral of the sign of the error feedback. A position of the motor of the linear compressor when the motor of the linear compressor is at the bottom dead center point is also determined based at least in part on a measured current to the motor of the linear compressor and an estimated acceleration of the motor. The position of the motor of the linear compressor when the motor of the linear compressor is at a top dead center point is calculated based at least in part on the position of the motor of the linear compressor when the motor of the linear compressor is at the bottom dead center point and a stroke length of the motor of the linear compressor.

Abstract: A variable displacement axial piston machine. The variable displacement axial piston machine includes a cylinder block with at least one main cylinder and main piston, a swash plate, a plunger arrangement with a plunger and auxiliary cylinder, and a sensor. The swash plate is arranged to effect movement of the main piston in the main cylinder upon rotation of the swash plate relative to the cylinder arrangement. The plunger is arranged to tilt the swash plate relative to the cylinder arrangement and to control a stroke of the main cylinder in the main piston. To provide a simple and reliable measurement of displacement of the main piston in the main cylinder, the invention provides a sensor element which is fixed in the auxiliary cylinder and which is adapted to sense movement of the plunger therein.

Abstract: A walking beam pumping system is disclosed wherein the pumping system's prime mover is gravity. In one embodiment, the system comprises a walking beam pivotally coupled to a support structure at a pivot point substantially central along the length of the walking beam. A counterbalance weight is disposed along the length of the walking beam. A position device is provided for moving the counterbalance weight along at least a portion of the length of the walking beam. As the counterbalance weight moves along the length of the walking beam, the beam's center of gravity is modulated. By modulating the position of the counterbalance weight in an appropriate manner, the walking beam is caused to pivot back and forth with respect to the support structure. A pumping assembly, for example a sucker rod string, is attached to one end of the walking beam, such that as the walking beam pivots back and forth, the pumping system is actuated to pump fluid out of, for example, an oil well bore. In one embodiment, the positioning device for moving the counterbalance weight comprises a linear motor.

Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es demgegenüber, die Handhabung und Wartung einer Flüssigkeitsproben-Fördervorrichtung zu verbessern. Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, dass die Förderpumpe (16) impulsartig fördert und die Förderpumpe (16) und die Förderleitung (18) derart ausgelegt sind, dass das Ausdehnungsvolumen der Förderleitung (18) während des Förderpulses maximal 50 % des Pulsvolumens beträgt. Hierdurch wird die Förderleitung gereinigt und ablagerungsfrei gehalten.
