Abstract: An X-ray diagnostic apparatus according to an embodiment includes an X-ray tube, an X-ray detector, image generating circuitry, and processing circuitry. The X-ray tube generates an X-ray. The X-ray detector is positioned in a manner facing the X-ray tube, and detects the X-ray. The image generating circuitry generates an X-ray image one after another, based on an output of the X-ray detector. The processing circuitry identifies an inserted object inside a subject in the X-ray image, by performing an image recognition process to the X-ray image. The processing circuitry sets the area to be searched for a marker, based on the inserted object identified in the X-ray image. The processing circuitry detects the marker in the X-ray image, by searching the area to be searched for the marker.

Abstract: Various of the disclosed embodiments are directed to systems and computer-implemented methods for determining surgical system events and/or kinematic data based upon surgical video data, such as video acquired at an endoscope. In some embodiments, derived data may be inferred from elements appearing in a graphical user interface (GUI) exclusively. Icons and text may be recognized in the GUI to infer event occurrences and tool actions. In some embodiments, derived data may additionally, or alternatively, be inferred from optical flow values derived from the video and by tracking tools entering and leaving the video field of view. Some embodiments include logic for reconciling data values derived from each of these approaches.

Each of the plurality of videos including video data of a first surgical procedure comprising a plurality of surgical steps. The method further including identifying a first surgical step included in the plurality of surgical steps within a first video segment in each of the plurality of videos. The method also including warping the first video segment to standardize a dimension of the first video segment in each of the plurality of videos.

The processor is configured to load the program instructions from the memory, and by executing the program instructions, to process a three-dimensional image of a portion of a body of a subject in which multiple brachytherapy to identify clusters of voxels of the image corresponding to the seed groups, respectively, to compute respective estimated positions of the brachytherapy seeds based on respective dimensions of each of the clusters, and to store or communicate the estimated positions for use in computing an effective dose of the brachytherapy seeds. Abstract: One example method for detecting phases of a surgical procedure via video processing includes accessing a video of the surgical procedure and dividing the video into one or more blocks, each of the blocks containing one or more video frames. For each of the blocks, the method includes applying a prediction model on the video frames of the respective block to obtain a phase prediction for each of the video frames. The prediction model is configured to predict, for an input video frame, one of the plurality of phases of the surgical procedure. The method further includes generating an aggregated phase prediction for the respective block by aggregating the phase predictions of the video frames, and modifying the video of the surgical procedure to include an indication of a predicted phase of the respective block based on the aggregated phase prediction.

Abstract: An artificial intelligence (AI) image recognition system can detect and recognize surface anomalies along a channel of a medical scope. The system includes image processing deep learning modules configured to process image data from an image sensor of a digital borescope. The image processing modules include a convolutional neural network trained on a data set of images of surface anomalies present along surfaces of channels of medical scopes, and the convolutional neural network is configured for semantic segmentation. The presence and instances of the surfaces of the anomalies can be predicted in real time as the digital borescope is pushed through the channel of the medical scope. Indicia of the type and/or instances of occurrence of the surface anomalies along the channel can be displayed in a time neutral manner with respect to the digital video output by a borescope.

Abstract: A system for monitoring a patient in a patient area having one or more detection zones, the system comprising one or more cameras, a user interface, and a computing system configured to receive a chronological series of frames from the one or more cameras, identify liquid candidates by comparing a current frame with a plurality of previous frames of the chronological series, determine locations of the liquid candidates, identify thermal signatures of the liquid candidates, determine types of liquids of the liquid candidates based on the locations and thermal signatures of the liquid candidates, and generate an alert with the user interface corresponding to the determined types of liquids.
