Abstract: An aspect includes a computer-implemented method that accesses input data including spatial data and/or sensor data temporally associated with a video stream of a surgical procedure. One or more machine-learning models predict a state of the surgical procedure based on the input data. The one or more machine-learning models detect one or more surgical instruments at least partially depicted in the video stream based on the input data. A state indicator and one or more surgical instrument indicators temporally correlated with the video stream are output. A first surgical instrument of the one or more surgical instruments is identified in the video stream, and a motion profile of the first surgical instrument is determined.

Abstract: A surgical robotic arm control system and a surgical robotic arm control method are provided. The surgical robotic arm control system includes a surgical robotic arm, a first image capturing unit, a second image capturing unit, and a processor. The first image capturing unit is used for obtaining a field image. The field image includes a first target image of a target object. The second image capturing unit is disposed at an end position of the surgical robotic arm and is used to obtain a second target image of the target object. The processor analyzes the field image to obtain robotic arm movement information, and controls the surgical robotic arm to move to approach the target object. The processor analyzes the target image to obtain robotic arm rotation information, and controls an angle and a posture of the surgical robotic arm.

Abstract: Identifying polyps or lesions in a colon. In some variations, computer-implemented methods for polyp detection may be used in conjunction with an endoscope system to analyze the images captured by the endoscopic system, identify any polyps and/or lesions in a visual scene captured by the endoscopic system, and provide an indication to the practitioner that a polyp and/or lesion has been detected.

Abstract: A location of an anatomical structure in image(s) from a surgical procedure is predicted using machine learning. An image/video capture device such as an endoscope, a wearable camera, a stationary camera, etc., can be used to capture the image(s). A confidence score of the prediction of the machine learning is determined. A surgeon can be provided an augmented visualization of the surgical procedure by displaying one or more graphical overlays based on the findings of the machine learning to enhance the surgeon-s information.

Abstract: A processor acquires a radiographic image including a human body and a surgical tool image which indicates a surgical tool and is acquired by a method other than radiography. The processor combines the surgical tool image with the radiographic image to generate a training image for training a discriminator that discriminates a region of the surgical tool in a target image in a case in which the target image is input.

Abstract: Systems and methods for updating a predicted outcome during a surgical procedure are disclosed. The system may include at least one processor configured to perform operations that include receiving, from at least one image sensor, image data associated with a first event and image data associated with a second event during a surgical procedure. Operations may include determining, based on received image data associated with the first event, a predicted outcome associated with the surgical procedure. Operations may include determining, based on the received image data associated with the second event, a change in the predicted outcome, causing the predicted outcome to drop below a threshold. Operations may include accessing a data structure of image-related data based on prior surgical procedures, identifying, based on the data structure, a recommended remedial action, and outputting the recommended remedial action.
