Abstract: L'invention vise principalement une composition pulvérulente pigmentée à base de polyamide pour le revêtement de substrats, comprenant : (a) 40 à 99% en poids d'au moins un polyamide; (b) 1 à 30% en poids d'au moins un pigment; et (c) 0 à 30% en poids d'au moins un additif, dans laquelle le polyamide présente une viscosité inhérente, telle que mesurée à l'aide d'un tube Ubbelohde à 20°C sur une solution à 0.5% en poids dans le m-crésol selon la norme ISO 307 sauf que la température de mesure est de 20°C au lieu de 25°C, supérieure à 0,7 (g/100g)-1, et dans laquelle la composition a un diamètre médian en volume Dv50, tel que mesuré selon la norme ISO 9276 - parties 1 à 6, de 10 à 200 μm, de préférence 30 à 50 μm. Elle concerne par ailleurs un procédé pour sa fabrication, son utilisation pour le revêtement d'un substrat, métallique et un objet comprenant un substrat métallique revêtu par un revêtement obtenu avec la composition pulvérulente pigmentée à base de polyamide.

Abstract: This invention provides a flame retardant additive composition which comprises at least one glow suppressant and at least one brominated flame retardant. The glow suppressant is about 0.5 wt% or more of the flame retardant additive composition, based on the total weight of the flame retardant additive composition. The brominated flame retardant contains aromatically-bound bromine and is selected from a) a brominated anionic styrenic polymer having a number average molecular weight of about 750 to about 7500, and/or a bromine content of about 60 wt% to about 77 wt%, b) a brominated anionic chain transfer vinyl aromatic polymer which contains about 70 wt% or more bromine, or a mixture of any two or more of these. Also provided are flame retarded polyolefin compositions that contain at least one glow suppressant and a brominated flame retardant.

Abstract: A thermoplastic polymer composition comprises a polyethylene polymer composition and a salt of bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-2,3-dicarboxylic acid. The polyethylene polymer composition can have a Melt Relaxation Index of 2 or greater. A method for molding a thermoplastic polymer composition comprises the steps of (a) providing an apparatus comprising a die with an annular orifice, a means for blowing pressurized fluid into a tube exiting the die orifice, and a means for drawing and collecting the tube; (b) providing the thermoplastic polymer composition described above; (c) heating the thermoplastic polymer composition to melt the thermoplastic polymer composition; (d) extruding the molten thermoplastic polymer composition through the die to form a tube; (e) blowing a pressurized fluid into the tube to inflate the tube while simultaneously drawing it; (f) allowing the film to cool; and (g) collecting the film.
