Abstract:
A channel end cap for use, in a mechanical fastening system for mechanically securing a flexible sheet, with a channel member of generally rectangular form, in transverse cross section, wherein the end cap is comprised of a flexible resilient material of a shape generally corresponding to that of the channel member and having first bottom, side and top wall portions separated by an intermediate abutment means from second bottom, side and top wall portions, extending from their corresponding first wall portions, axially outwardly of the channel member axial outer end surface, with the abutment means acting as stop means and abutting the channel member axial outer end surface.
Abstract:
The invention refers to a joining with multiple use, meant for ensuring the fast assembling of adjacent elements, for example panels made of varied materials such as wood, ferrous and nonferrous metals, glass, composite materials, plastics a.s.o., with simple or complex geometric forms and dimensions comprised in a large range, having numerous uses in the field of housing constructions, industrial and agricultural constructions, furniture making, packaging, motor car bodies, and everywhere plane or curved panels are used for delimitation of spaces or volumes, for example in the sea ship and railway wagon engineering, cereal silos, etc. The technical solution provides for a mobile joining and stiffening beam (3), which is of an oblong form, has in its section two prominences (1), placed on the body of a central element (x) and it penetrates with these prominences (1) into some grooves (c, d) practiced in the bodies which are to be joined (1, 2), placed, previously, adjacently, in the position groove, these grooves (c, d) being possible to be practiced on some frontal surfaces (a, b) of the elements (1, 2) which are to be joined, on their lateral surfaces (i, j), or both on their frontal (a, b) and lateral faces (i, j), being possible that they be also placed on separated bodies which shall be applied on a cove which can be a panel or other element.
Abstract:
A wear and/or abrasive resistant tile (10) has a front, working face (12), and a rear mounting face (9), a pair of spaced-apart, parallel slide surfaces (5, 2) associated with the rear mounting face (9), at least one of which slide surfaces is a lip formation (14, 22), to provide, in use, for sliding, lateral insertion of the tile into a complementary receiving slot (16) of a tile carrier (11), with the or each lip formation (14, 22) providing mechanical resistance to inadvertent detachment of the tile (10) from its carrier (11), in a direction towards the front face (12). The invention also includes a carrier (11) with a transverse slot (16), a tile and carrier combination, a scroll (25) provided with tile and carriers, and a method of manufacture.
Abstract:
A fastening device (14, 38, 68, 108) is provided to secure together a plurality of elongated framing members (16, 18). The fastening device has at least one planar shaped portion (20) having a plurality of apertures (30) formed therethrough and a second planar shaped portion (22) angled with respect to the first planar shaped portion (20) and having an additional plurality of apertures (32) formed therethrough. The first (20) and second (22) planar shaped portions are placed in an abutting and overlaying contact with the planar surfaces (26, 28) of the elongated members (16, 18) and a plurality of screw fasteners (34, 36), pop rivets or other attachment devices are inserted through selected apertures to secure the elongated members to the fastening device to form an angular connection of the framing members.
Abstract:
A connection element (V) is described for connecting grooved components (1). The connection element is in the form of a rail section having a constant, e.g. generally X or H-shaped cross-section and resilient legs (2, 3; 4, 5) which co-operate in pairs and can be bent relative to each other under the effect of force. In the assembled state and under pre-tension, the legs (2, 3; 4, 5), in pairs, abut the side walls (F) of a groove (N).
Abstract:
For producing an airtight sealing of two foils (4, 5) a metal slide (3) is used that is open in the side, and a flexible tube (1), the cavity (2) of which is hermetically sealed, as the foils (4, 5) are led into the slide (3) with the tube (1) at the top, after which a pressure is put to the cavity (2) of the tube so that it will expand and thus press the foils (4, 5) against the inner walls of the slide and in this way secure a complete sealing between the parts. When the pressure is removed from the interior of the tube, the parts can be easily separated and the method can be repeated. For placing the foils (4, 5) and the tube (1) in the right way a tool can be used, which consists of rolls (6, 7, 8) so that the foils (4, 5) and the tube (1) are placed correctly in the slide (3) when the tool is taken across the slide (3) by means of the rolls (8, 6).
Abstract:
The inventive hollow patterns are made from preformed parts (3, 4) positively engaged with the joining edges (5.1, 5.2). In order to join two preformed parts (3, 4) by preformed portions (3, 4) along their joining edges (5.1, 5.2), raws of spaced linking elements with grooves (7) running parallel to the joining edges are provided which are turned in the direction opposite the joining one and form a staggered arrangement, so that the linking elements (1) of one preformed part engage the spaces provided between the linking elements (2) of the other preformed part (4), and the grooves (7) define together a channel (8) in which the holding element (6) passes. The preformed parts may be, for example, plastic injection moulded parts, including duct patterns for automotive engines.
Abstract:
The invention comprises a joiner for joining sheet materials, preferably those where joints have a plastered finish. Typical uses include the installation of wall and ceiling linings. The joiner comprises at least two sheet engaging portions, each able to accommodate an inserted edge portion of a sheet. Use of a joiner helps brace and stiffen joints and addresses problems where sheets cannot be joined over a supporting backing member such as a stud or batten.
Abstract:
The invention provides a structure made from a plurality of thermoplastic fusionable panel units (2) and connecting pieces (6), in which the panel units (2) are formed by extrusion and the panel units and/or connecting pieces are provided with at least one electrical conductor (10) extending along a surface area in the direction of extrusion, and the connection between contacting panel units and/or the panel units and the connecting pieces, is effected by mechanical joining means (12), as well as by fusion, thereby forming a non-sliding, rigid and thermally insulated structure. A method of forming such structures is also provided.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a system for fixing two components together utilising undercut recesses (14) and headed or expandable plugs. Special tools (11) for forming the undercut recesses are disclosed. The undercut recess is formed by forming a straight walled cylindrical recess (12) and then moving the tool laterally to form single or multiple keyways or circular undercut recesses (14).
