Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a long life filament which is heated in a space having reactive gas. CONSTITUTION: A filament is composed of a filament main body 17 and a conductive film 27 which is formed on the surface of the filament main body 17 and has reaction resistance against reactive gas. A laminated film of conductive films 37, 47 may be formed instead of the conductive film 27. The conductive films 27, 37, 47 are formed of materials having such a work function and Dushman's constants that thermionic currents emitted from the filaments when the filaments are heated up to a predetermined temperature are larger than that emitted from the single filament main body 17, for example, titanium nitride(TiN), titanium CARBIDE(TIC), or the like.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the manufacture of a cathode with improved service life and cutoff drift charracteristic by method 100% compatable with a conventional method. SOLUTION: In a cathode for an electron tube where an electron emitting material layer 1 containing alkali earth metal oxide having barium oxide as its main component formed on a metal base 2 having nickel as its main component, La, Mg and Mn oxide are contained further in the layer 1. Accordingly, the service life and cutoff drift characteristic are improved with the manufacturing method 100% compatible with a conventional method.

Abstract: A system for transporting radio frequency (RF) signals across a RF network comprises a central transport unit and a remote transport unit. The frequencies of at least some of the RF signals to be transported hop in accordance with predetermined hopping sequences. The central transport unit uses the hopping sequences to convert the hopping frequencies into fixed frequencies for efficient transport through the RF network. The remote transport unit uses the hopping sequences to convert the fixed frequencies back to the original hopping frequencies. The transport system is also capable of reverse operation in the direction from the remote transport unit to the central transport unit.

The cathode of the present invention is fully interchangeable with conventional oxide cathodes and has a longer lifetimes and an improved cut-off drift characteristic.
