    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure flame stability, even in a transient load range by reducing the flow sectional area of an air inflow slit formed in the tangential direction with respect to the partial cone of a burner in the flowing direction. SOLUTION: A premixing burner has two hollow partial cones 101, 102. The cones 101, 102 are deviated from each other and entangled with each other. The central axes or longitudinal symmetrical axes 101b, 102b of the cones 101, 102 are deviated from each other. Air inflow slits 119, 120 of a tangential direction are opened at the mirror symmetrical disposition at both sides. Combustion air 115 is fed to a conical hollow chamber 114 via the slits 119, 120. The flow sectional areas of the slits 119, 120 are reduced in the flowing direction. Thus, the concentration of liquid fuel is reduced continuously by the air 115 fed in the axial direction for optimal mixing.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce the emission of harmful substances related especially to the emission of NOx even in the case of employing liquid fuel and gaseous fuel or further even in the case of mixing operation of both fuels. CONSTITUTION: Mixture 6 consisting of air 3 and re-cycled flue gas 4 is conducted to flow into a burner 100 as combustion air 115 for a first combustion stage 1. Then, the heat amount of high-temperature gas from the first combustion stage 1 is regulated before sending the same into a second combustion stage 2, and mixture 14 consisting of the fuel 15 and the re-cycled flue gas 4 is introduced into the high-temperature gas to generate combustion in the second combustion stage 2 by self-ignition.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To lead out two phase-shifted signals for formation of a physical quantity from a common optical channel by inverting an input beam of light in an electro-optic crystal, passing the beam through a beam splitter for splitting, and leading the beams after splitting to a photodetector via respective polarizers. CONSTITUTION: An input beam of light is fed to an electro-optic crystal 4 having three characteristic axes, reflected by a mirror 7, and deflected to a return path through the crystal. The light, having penetrated a beam splitter 1, is led to a photoelectric detector D1 via a polarizer P1, while the light reflected by the beam splitter 1 has a passed through a phase shifter 9 and another polarizer P2 and led to a photoelectric sensor D2. A phase signal I1 given out of the detector D1 and a transport signal I2 with phase shifted relative to I1 emitted from the other sensor D2 are fed to a microprocessor 14, and therefrom the output is given as a resultant signal S from measurement and subjected to a correction about the temperature dependence.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To keep stable a flame surface and hence avoid a reverse flow of a flame into an inflow region and restrict emission of harmful matter, by disposing a conspicuous lateral cross section expansion portion on a transfer portion between the inflow region and a combustion region for guiding a flow cross section of the combustion region. CONSTITUTION: A self ignition combustor chiefly comprises an inflow region 1 and a combustion region 2 which are arranged in parallel with each other and have the same flow direction. Working gas 7 flowing into a spiral flow formation element 3 and a fuel 5 supplied from a fuel lance 4 cause properly self-ignition respectively, and the fuel 5 is injected from a fuel nozzle 6 and is then discharged as hot gas 10. Herein, there is disposed a sharp cross section expansion section 8 on the transfer section between the inflow region 1 and the combustion region 2 for guiding the flow cross section of the combustion region 2. The transverse expansion section 8 keeps stably a flame surface 9 and hence avoids a reverse flow of a flame from the combustion region 2 to the inflow region 1.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To reliably remove free thermoelectrons from an insulated route by coating the inner surface of a metal capsule incorporating an insulating gas and the outside of a shielding part surrounding the contact part on a protective coating part doped with a fullerene. CONSTITUTION: A high voltage facility comprises a metal capsule 1 of which the inner chamber 2 is filled with an insulting gas (SF6 and as such) and in which an active part to apply voltage to is installed in the center part. In the metal capsule 1, a shielding part 3 concentrically surrounding an immovable contact part and a shielding part 4 concentrically surrounding a movable contact part are arranged and the respective shielding parts 3, 4 are made of metal thin sheets 6, 8, respectively. Protective coating parts 7, 9, 10 are formed at least partially on the outsides of the metal thin sheets 6, 8 or the inner surface of the metal capsule 1 and an epoxy lacquer doped with a C60 fullerene is used for the protective coating parts 7, 9, 10. Consequently, partial discharge caused by free particles can be suppressed to low.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a sensor of optical fiber transmission path type equipped with a modulator, which permits simple performance of signal evaluation. CONSTITUTION: From a light source 1, light is fed to a feed line optical fiber 2. At the first splice spot 3, the light is introduced to the first reference optical fiber 4, and its main axis is turned 45deg. with respect to the feed line optical fiber 2. At the second splice spot, the light reaches the second reference optical fiber 6, and its main axis is turned 90deg. about the first reference optical fiber. At a third splice spot 7, the light is fed to an optical fiber 8 having a low complex refractivity, and this fiber 8 first forms a λ/4 light guide loop 9, and then forms an optical sensor 10. The phase deviation of the light is made controllable statically or dynamically using a phase modulator M coupled with the first reference optical fiber 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To optimally utilize open loop or closed loop control of an electric drive section by logically combining a set torque defined as a set traction or braking with a decreasing signal to thereby limit the set torque to a set input torque, and supplying the torque to the electric drive section. CONSTITUTION: A set phase shift Φs is supplied to a first node 1, and an actual phase shift Φi ,m corrected here is subtracted from the set phase shift Φs . The actual phase shift Φi is subtracted from the value resulting from the subtraction at a second node 2. A resultant value is inverted at an inverter 3 and supplied to a controller 4. The controller 4 supplies unlimited reduction coefficients r limited in a limiter 5 within a range of 0-1. The reduction coefficients r' thus obtained are combined with a set value M at a multiplication point 6, and a corrected set input torque value ME is produced and supplied to a drive 7. The set value M corresponds to a set torque value MS and a test signal T defined by drive of a locomotive, for example.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a sensor head for an optical fiber type current measuring instrument with its high measurement precision in spite of its simple and rigid structure. CONSTITUTION: A sensor head 1 for an optical fiber type current measuring instrument is provided with a fiber 14 with its low birefringence. This fiber is twisted, is guided around a conductor 2, and serves to guide polarized light. This fiber 14 detects the Faraday rotation of the polarized light generated by means of a magnetic field H of a current J to be measured. An LB fiber 14 is wired to two fibers 6 and 7 to guide the light keeping polarization respectively at both ends thereof. The polarized light is supplied from the fibers 6 of these fibers. Both HB fibers 6 and 7 receives the twisting force generated by twisting of the LB fiber 14 and is fixed near both wiring portions 19 and 20.
