Abstract: PURPOSE: To keep stable a flame surface and hence avoid a reverse flow of a flame into an inflow region and restrict emission of harmful matter, by disposing a conspicuous lateral cross section expansion portion on a transfer portion between the inflow region and a combustion region for guiding a flow cross section of the combustion region. CONSTITUTION: A self ignition combustor chiefly comprises an inflow region 1 and a combustion region 2 which are arranged in parallel with each other and have the same flow direction. Working gas 7 flowing into a spiral flow formation element 3 and a fuel 5 supplied from a fuel lance 4 cause properly self-ignition respectively, and the fuel 5 is injected from a fuel nozzle 6 and is then discharged as hot gas 10. Herein, there is disposed a sharp cross section expansion section 8 on the transfer section between the inflow region 1 and the combustion region 2 for guiding the flow cross section of the combustion region 2. The transverse expansion section 8 keeps stably a flame surface 9 and hence avoids a reverse flow of a flame from the combustion region 2 to the inflow region 1.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To atomize fine fuel and to suppress the generation of harmful substance by improving the apparatus for injecting fuel to compressed gaseous medium having a cylindrical hollow unit including at least one fuel supply passage and means for introducing compressed atomized air. SOLUTION: A vortex chamber 1 is disposed in a hollow unit 24. The chamber 1 is connected to a fuel supply passage 2 via at least one inlet opening. The cross sectional surface of the chamber 1 is narrowed in the flowing direction of atomized air guided through the unit 24, thereby forming a conical shape 8. A partition wall 20 is disposed between the fuel in the chamber and atomized air 5 at the upstream of the chamber 1, and the wall is extended at least to the center of the inlet opening 6 at the downstream.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mixing function in a device, in which two or more fluids are caused to flow along a partition wall and the fluids are mixed by a large number of eddy generators arranged on the downstream of the partition wall, by constituting the eddy generator of a specific roof surface comprising two components and a specific bottom surface comprising two components. SOLUTION: In a mixing device wherein fluid to be mixed flows along a partition wall and a large number of eddy generators 9 each having a surface, over which fluid can flow, are arranged on the downstream side end of the partion wall, the generator 9 is composed of a large number of triangular surfaces, i.e., roof surfaces 1, 2, sidewall surfaces 11, 13, and bottom surface. Longitudinal edges 12, 14 of roof surfaces 1, 2, longitudinally extending, are in conformity to inclined sides of the sidewall surface 11, 13 projecting into a flow passage and form an angle of elevation θ with respect to a partition wall 22. And rear edge 5, 6 located downstream of the surfaces 1, 2 are twisted through a predetermined angle of γwith respect to the wall 22. And the surfaces 1, 2 are connected together through a joint edge 10.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to perform extremely low NOx emission by improving a premixing burner, to densely mix combustion air and fuel in an extremely short section by incorporating a simple geometrical shape and effective motion behavior in a burner, to perform the uniform speed distribution in a mixing area, and to effectively prevent the back fire of a flame without using a mechanical flame stabilizer. SOLUTION: To burn gaseous and/or liquid-like fuel, the premixing burner comprises a vortex generator 9 for generating vortex for allowing residual vortex to retain in fuel/air mixed flow after the air and fuel are completely mixed, an annular main fluid passage 20 formed of a passage wall with a constant height and having a length of a range of 5 to 20 times as large as the height at the downstream side of the generator 9 and fuel injection means and enlarged by the closure of the inner cylinder wall 21a to form a circular main fluid passage.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve operation of a diffuser having no part body and to reduce incurring of a pressure loss to a cross section expansion part. SOLUTION: This ring combustion chamber 1 comprises a plenum 7 to receive mainly a compressor air flow, at least a single burner 100 arranged in the plenum 7, a combustion space 122 connected to the rear of the plenum 7, and passages 2 and 3 with which the combustion space 122 is surrounded and which is opened in a plenum 7 and guides cooling air. In the ring combustion chamber 1, injector systems 8 and 9 are arranged in a range within which the passages 2 and 3 to guide cooling air are opened to the plenum 7. Each of the injector systems 8 and 9 comprises a flow passage as the extensions of the passages 2 and 3 to guide cooling air, and an opening arranged in the peripheral direction of the flow passage. Acceleration air 5 flowing through the opening flows in a cooling air flow.
