Abstract: PURPOSE: A control method of a printer is provided to re-print a predetermined range of pages by re-setting the allowable range of pages to be printed. CONSTITUTION: A printer has an input part for re-print selecting input. Data to be printed are received from a computer(S10). The received data are stored. Memory capacity required for each page of the data is determined. Memory capacity of each page of the data is assigned within the allowance range of memory capacity of the printer(S12). If the received data exceeds the memory capacity of the printer, memory capacity corresponding to the number of predetermined pages is additionally assigned. The stored data are outputted(S16). When a user selects re-print for the outputted data through the input part after the stored data are outputted, the number of pages of the stored data are displayed(S20). When the printer receives the re-print range from the user within the range of the displayed pages, the data within the re-print range are re-printed(S24).
