PURPOSE: A method and a device for encoding and decoding an image by using template matching are provided to simplify the determining process of the matching target area by using the template of a decoding target block and the template of an encoding target block. CONSTITUTION: An image encoding device determines the template of an encoded object block(110). The image encoder determines a matching search target image about the determined template(120). Using the usage of template and the matching search target image, the image encoding device determines an optimal prediction block(130). Using the usage of the encoded object block and the predicted block, the image encoding deice generates a residual block(140).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for encoding and decoding an ultra high definition resolution image are provided to reduce the calculation complexity by outputting a bitstream using an estimation block of a current block. CONSTITUTION: A prediction unit(810) creates the estimation block of a current block based on a reference image. A subtracting unit creates the difference block through a difference between the estimation block and the current block. An encoding information generating unit(850) creates the encoding information which shows the encoding state of the differential block.

PURPOSE: An intra prediction encoding and decoding method and an intra prediction encoding and decoding apparatus implementing the method are provided to reduce overhead related to mode bit with the selection of a prediction mode through peripheral blocks. CONSTITUTION: A first intra prediction unit(111) respectively calculates the degree of pixel correlation by intra prediction direction between a macroblock and the peripheral blocks of the macroblock. A second intra prediction unit(113) performs the intra prediction of the macroblock with the mode information of the peripheral block in the upper part of the macro block. A third intra prediction unit(115) performs the intra prediction of the brightness component of a current picture. A mode selection unit(117) selects an optimal intra prediction mode.

PURPOSE: An image encoding/decoding apparatus and method are provided to eliminate the use of a memory area necessary to deblocking filtering. CONSTITUTION: If bit stream for the compression of video data is outputted on the basis of the block video information of the video data and the differential signal of the video information, a reverse processing unit(107~109) performs the reverse transformation and reverse quantization of the video information and the addition of the differential signal. A deblocking filler(110) performs the deblocking of the added video information. A reference video buffer(111) stores the video information deblocked by the deblocking filler. One or more prediction units(101,112) performs the video prediction of the video information using the deblocked video information stored in the reference video buffer.

PURPOSE: An encoding apparatus and method capable of multi-dimensional conversion and quantization and a decoding apparatus and method are provided to apply integer-type quantization to a difference image which is converted twice. CONSTITUTION: A first differentiator(140) removes a prediction block created by inter prediction and creates a difference image. A converting unit(151) performs the multi-dimensional conversion of the difference image. A quantization unit(153) applies integer-type quantization to the multi-dimensionally converted difference image. An entropy coding unit(157) encodes and compresses the coefficient values of the re-aligned difference image.

CONSTITUTION: A signal divider(131) divides a differential signal of an image block into a non boundary area signal and a boundary area signal. A converting and encoding unit(133) performs a DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) of the non boundary area signal. A quantization unit(135) quantizes the DCT-converted non-boundary area signal in a frequency domain. A spatial area quantization unit(137) quantizes the boundary area signal in a space area.

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for adaptive in-loop filtering to compensate an encoding mode for video encoding and decoding in consideration of an encoding mode of a region are provided to improve an encoding performance in consideration of an encoding mode for a region to which a filter is applied and minimize the overhead resulting from the consideration of the encoding mode. CONSTITUTION: A pixel of a restoration image from which block distortion is removed is compared with a set encoding mode(510). If the pixel corresponds to the encoding mode, a filter coefficient corresponding to the pixel is calculated(520). Based on the filter coefficient, an adaptive in-loop filtered recovery image is generated by performing a filtering operation for the restored image from which the block distortion is removed(530).

PURPOSE: A decoding/encoding method using a prediction offset and an apparatus thereof for improving the efficiency of a screen encode are provided to improve the compression rate of the image through bit rate reduction. CONSTITUTION: A rate distortion optimization unit(100) receives a message video data, the prediction mode and an offset. An intra estimator(110) uses the encoded ambience information of the current block and the predicted block is created to the prediction mode. An offset correction unit(140) generates the prediction block.
