    Abstract: A system and method for improving leach kinetics and recovery during above-atmospheric leaching of a metal sulfide is disclosed. In some embodiments, the method may comprise the steps of: (a) producing a metal sulfide concentrate [34] via flotation; (b) moving the produced metal sulfide concentrate [34] to at least one chamber [22a] of at least one reactor such as an autoclave [20]; (c) leaching the produced metal sulfide concentrate in said at least one chamber [22a] in the presence of oxygen [82] at a pressure and/or temperature above ambient, and in the presence of partially-used [25] and/or or new [92] grinding media within the at least one chamber [22a]. Systems [10] and apparatus [20, 200] for practicing the aforementioned method are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A high voltage power supply for an electrostatic precipitator comprises a high voltage transformer, a high voltage bridge rectifier and a semiconductor switch controller configured to control an output power level of the high voltage power supply. A control unit (50) is configured to determine a firing angle of firing pulses for the semiconductor switch controller. During normal operation, a peak voltage value is measured and stored in each half period. When a breakdown is detected, a residual voltage (Ur) over the electrostatic precipitator is measured. A firing angle (α1) of a firing pulse to be provided to said semiconductor switch controller in the first half period after the breakdown is determined from the latest stored measured peak voltage value (Ubef) and the measured residual voltage (Ur) based on a predetermined relationship between the firing angle (α1) and said measured voltages.

    Abstract: A comminution device can include a crushing body extraction mechanism. The crushing body extraction mechanism can be configured to permit one or more crushing bodies (e.g. rollers of a roller press, etc.) to be continuously moved linearly away from a frame to expose the crushing bodies from the frame. In some embodiments, the extraction mechanism may be configured to utilize one or more rack and pinion mechanisms. The pinion for each such mechanism may be powered by one or more rotary motors or other type of rotary drive mechanism. In other embodiments, the extraction mechanism can include one or more rack and ratchet mechanisms. Each rack and ratchet mechanism may include a hydraulic cylinder or other linear actuator that is extendable and retractable for actuating motion of a ratchet along a rack having columns of differently angled steps to facilitate extension and retraction of one or more crushing bodies.

    Abstract: A flotation machine includes a stator positioned in a tank adjacent a rotor. The stator has a plurality of vanes. Each of the vanes has a plurality of slots formed therein. Each of the slots has a shape that is elongated in a direction along the width of the vane in which the slot is formed. Each of the vanes is spaced apart from the other vanes to which that vane is adjacent. The vanes are positioned in series adjacent a periphery of the stator to define a central opening within the stator that is sized such that the rotor of a flotation machine may be positioned therein. The stator may be retrofitted onto a prior flotation machine installation. For instance, a stator may be offered for sale and then installed onto a flotation machine. A previous stator may be removed before the installation of the new stator.
