    Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for operating an air guide of a vehicle hood is provided to avoid the secondary injury on a walker passing by the upper face of a hood by lowering the front end of an air guide when a vehicle collides against the walker. CONSTITUTION: A device for operating an air guide of a vehicle hood comprises a collision sensing lever(2) accepting a shock from a bumper, a sliding lever(3) connected with the collision sensing lever, a main rod(6) elastically supported on a spring(8) and pulled by the sliding lever when a hood(7) is closed, a rotating lever(9) fixed on the other end of the main rod to release an air guide(10), a mounting bracket(11) installed at an opening(14) of the hood and to rotatably install the air guide via a pin(12), and a spring(13) fixed on the air guide and the mounting bracket to lower the front portion of the air guide toward the hood when the air guide is released from the rotating lever. If a walker moves over the upper face of the hood right after a collision, the front portion of the air guide is lowered. Therefore, the secondary injury on the walker is avoided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A shock-absorbing hood lock of a vehicle is provided to protect a walker safe by maintaining the rigidity of a hood and damping the shock transmitted to the walker in a head-on collision. CONSTITUTION: A shock-absorbing hood lock of a vehicle comprises a bracket(110) fixed on the bottom of a hood(1), a shock sensing lever(120) elastically combined to a portion of the bracket via a hinge(122), and a striker(130) elastically combined to the other portion of the bracket. The striker and the shock sensing lever are applied with the clockwise rotational force by tension springs(124). If a portion of the body of a walker collides against the hood, the shock pressurizes down the hood. Then, the shock sensing lever rotates clockwise against the force of the tension spring, and the striker rotates elastically. The hood is pulled down by the tension spring and a shock is damped. Therefore, the shock transmitted to the walker is minimized.

The open/shut unit includes two support shafts(13,14) coupled to both sides of a case(1); a thin film(16) fixed to the support shafts and wound in vertical or horizontal direction; a driving shaft(8) arranged between two support shafts; the motor connected to the driving shaft so as to rotate the driving shaft; and a spring one end of which is fixed to the support shafts and the other end of which fixed to the case.
