A steel cord for rubber reinforcement comprises a first group of core filaments having a number of m and a second group of sheath filaments having a number of n, m is three or four, the core filaments are forming a helix, the core filaments are not twisted together and being substantially parallel or the core filaments have a twist pitch being more than 300mm; the second group and the first group are twisted around each other, and the sheath filaments are forming a flattened helix in the same direction of the helix of the core filaments, and the sheath filaments have a cord twist pitch, at any cross-section of the steel cord, at least one interstice between two adjacent core filaments is present. The steel cord has improved abrasion resistance and can contribute to the reduction of the weight of the tire.

Hybridlitze (1) mit einem Kern (2) sowie mit um diesen Kern (2) herum angeordneten Außendrähten (3'), wobei zumindest ein Teil der Außendrähte (3') verdichtet ist, wobei die verdichteten Außendrähte eine abgeflachte Querschnittsform aufweisen, die Außendrähte (3') aus Stahl bestehen und der Kern (2) ein Faserkern ist. Ein entsprechendes Herstellungsverfahren für solch eine Hybridlitze (1) ist ebenfalls offenbart.

Eine Verlitzmaschine (1) für Drähte weist in einer ersten Ausführung zwei Umschlingungsrollen (3, 4) mit auf deren Umfang angeordneten Umschlingungsbahnen (5 1 ..., 5 5 ; 6 1 ,..., 6 4 ) auf, wodurch die Litze (2) so geführt werden kann, dass sie die ersten und zweiten Umschlingungsbahnen (5 1 ,..., 5 5 ; 6 1 ,... 6 4 ) vorzugsweise abwechselnd in vorzugsweise 8-förmigen oder 0-förmigen Umschlingungen durchläuft. In einer zweiten Ausführung weist die Verlitzmaschine (1) eine Wickelvorrichtung (8) zum Aufwickeln der Litze (2) auf eine Spule mit einer entlang einer zur Spulenachse parallelen Verfahrachse verfahrbaren Verlegeeinrichtung (15) und mit einer Mehrzahl von drehbar gelagerten Umlenkrollen (9) bis (13) auf, wodurch die Litze (2) so geführt werden kann, dass sie auf jede der Umlenkrollen (9 bis 13) im Wesentlichen in der Rotationsebene der Umlenkrolle aufläuft und/oder von dieser abläuft. Auf diese Weise hat die hergestellte Litze (2) einen geringen Drall und geringe Torsionsspannungen, was ihre Weiterverarbeitung, insbesondere das Aufwickeln, Konfektionieren, Crimpen und Extrudieren einer Kunststoffisolation um die Litze, erleichtert sowie die Anzahl der möglichen Biegewechselzyklen erhöht.

The invention relates to a method for producing stranded wires (3) having at least two strands (2) made from a metal material, particularly a copper alloy, wherein the method comprises the following steps, which can also be performed multiple times and/or in a different order than that indicated: - heating the strands (2) by means of a heat treatment apparatus (30) in order to increase the possible material extension or deformability; - stranding the strands (2) by means of a stranding apparatus (40) at one or more stranding points (45.1, 45.2); and - influencing or reducing the cross-section (16) of the stranded wire (3) by means of at least one cross-section influencing apparatus (10), which is designed in particular as a drawing die. A corresponding device for carrying out the method is also disclosed.

The invention relates to a hybrid rope comprising a core element, a first and a second metallic closed layer surrounding said core element. The core element includes a bundle or construction of synthetic yarns. The first metallic closed layer includes a plurality of first wirelike members helically twisted together with the core element in a first direction. The second metallic closed layer includes a plurality of second wirelike members helically twisted together with said core element and said first metallic closed layer in a second direction. The cross-sectional area of the core element is larger than the total cross-sectional area of the first and second metallic closed layers.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a wire rope having a blackened finish designed for theatrical productions. The wire rope includes a plurality of strands that have a closed spiral arrangement with each other and are compacted. Each strand includes a center wire spirally surrounded by a plurality of inner wires that are spirally surrounded by a plurality of outer wires so that the outer wires completely encompass the inner wires. The center wire and the inner wires are made from a galvanized material and coated with a lubricant. The outer wires are made from a non-coated steel material. Each strand is compacted so the outer wires create a tight mechanical seal to protect the inner wires. The blackened finish on the wire rope is due to a black oxide coating treatment and provides for low visibility of the wire rope during theatrical performances.

An electric transmissioncable is provided, comprising a cable core having at least two individually coated and stranded wires, and a conductor surrounding the core, wherein the core is compacted. Further, a method of fabricating such compacted steel core is provided.
