    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for wireless communications. A first method includes transmitting a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) communications signal to a wireless node in a licensed spectrum, and transmitting, concurrently with the transmission of the first OFDMA communications signal, a second OFDMA communications signal to the wireless node in an unlicensed spectrum. A second method includes receiving a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) communications signal from a wireless node in a licensed spectrum, and receiving, concurrently with the reception of the first OFDMA communications signal, a second OFDMA communication signal from the wireless node in an unlicensed spectrum. A third method includes generating a periodic gating interval for a cellular downlink in an unlicensed spectrum, and synchronizing at least one boundary of the periodic gating interval with at least one boundary of a periodic frame structure associated with a primary component carrier of the cellular downlink.

    Abstract: A data structure for managing user equipment communications in a wireless communication system is presented. In some examples, the data structure may include one or more resource element blocks into which a frequency bandwidth of a downlink channel is divided within a symbol that defines a transmission time interval in a downlink subframe. Furthermore, the data structure may include a control region and a data region within at least one resource element block of the one or more resource element blocks. Additionally, the data structure may include a downlink resource grant, located within the control region, for a user equipment served by the downlink channel. In an additional aspect, a network entity and method for generating the example data structure are provided.

    Abstract: UE-aided channel selection within unlicensed frequency bands. A base station may communicate with UEs using LTE/LTE-A carrier waveforms (e.g., configured as a secondary cell) in the unlicensed frequency band. The base station may configure UEs for wide-band interference feedback for channels in the unlicensed frequency band. The measurements of wide-band signal strength may be performed by the UEs on channels for which the base station is not currently transmitting, or during silent periods of a configured secondary cell. The UEs may feedback an average total received power over a measurement bandwidth for one or more frequency channels of the unlicensed frequency band. The base station may receive the wide-band signal strength feedback from the UEs and identify potential frequency channels for channel selection for the secondary cell based on its own measurements of the candidate channels, and the wide-band signal strength feedback from the UEs.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may be used for low latency communications. For example, aspects allow a single group acknowledgement to be used to acknowledge a plurality of low latency transmissions. An exemplary method generally includes receiving, from a base station, a plurality of downlink channel transmissions, wherein each of the downlink channel transmissions is sent using a first transmission time interval (TTI) that is reduced relative to a legacy TTI and providing, in a single uplink channel transmission sent using a second TTI that is larger than the first TTI, a group acknowledgement indicating whether or not the downlink channel transmissions were successfully received by a UE.
