A system for manufacturing a trim panel includes a plurality of rollers for routing a foam core of the trim panel along a path. A first doctor blade for applying an adhesive resin is disposed adjacent to the first side of the foam core. A second doctor blade for applying an adhesive resin to the second side of the foam core is disposed adjacent the second side of the foam core. The system further includes a mixing head having an output port. A mixing tube is attached to the output port. The mixing head defines first, second, and third distinct fluid paths for the first, second and third components, respectively. The first, second, and third fluid ports extend to the output port. In use, the system continuously monitors the actual application rate of the adhesive resin and compares this actual application rate to a desired application rate and adjusts the pump output accordingly.

A two-component resin or adhesive dispensing system including an air drive motor with adjustable settings which drives, by means of sprocket and chain drive systems, an activator metering pump and an adhesive metering pump as to provide a dispenser with adjustable amounts of activator material and adhesive material. The metering pumps are mounted upon adjustably movable mounting brackets such that their relative disposition may be readily altered so as to accommodate different sized sprocket members which will then alter the drive output of the metering pumps in order to change the ratio of activator material dispensed with respect to the amount of resin or adhesive material dispensed.

The invention describes a machine for filling the edge joint of insulating glass panes with a semi-liquid to paste-like sealing compound, consisting of a main constituent and a secondary constituent, which are different in chemical terms and in terms of their viscosity, having two pumps (3, 6) which convey the two constituents from two reservoirs (1, 2) into separate intermediate storage chambers (5, 8), and having separate, synchronously driven volumetric feed metering pumps (14, 19) for conveying the constituents in a predetermined composition to a mixer (16) and then on to a nozzle (17), the nozzle and the mixer belonging to one sub-assembly which is movably mounted as a whole on a frame of the machine. According to the invention, there is provided a gear pump (14), driven by a servomotor, as metering pump for the main constituent in combination with a piston pump (19), which serves as a metering pump for the secondary constituent and whose piston (10) is driven by a second servomotor (23), both of which preferably are part of the movable sub-assembly.

An apparatus for coating an optical fibre with a selected one of a plurality of different resins includes respective reservoirs for the resins, an applicator for applying a resin coating to the optical fibre and a distributor between the reservoirs and the applicator including a valve device which is operable for putting any selected one of the reservoirs in flow communication with the applicator. The valve device includes a first body defining a plurality of inlet passages each of which is interconnected to a respective reservoir by a respective inlet conduit and a second body defining an outlet passage which is interconnected to the applicator via an outlet conduit. A flow control device is disposed between the bodies and the bodies are relatively moveable for putting any selected one of the inlet passages in alignment with the outlet passage. The flow control device has a first position relative to the second body for blocking all of the inlet passages and the outlet passage and a second position relative to the second body for allowing flow to the outlet passage from an inlet passage aligned therewith.

A method and apparatus for supplying two different components at two different flow rates to an extrusion head. A first component is delivered to an extrusion head through a first hose at a predetermined pressure. A second component is delivered to the extrusion head through a second hose at substantially the same predetermined pressure as the first component. The second hose extends partially through the first hose so that both components are delivered to the extrusion head at constant equal pressures.

Provided are a blade device equipped with a blade member which can accurately adjust pressing force due to a blade member, and a printing machine and a coating device equipped with the blade device. A blade device 40 according to the present invention has: a blade member 41 contacting with a plate roll 10 to which coating material is to be applied; an upper holder 43 contacting with the blade member from one surface side of the blade member; a lower holder 44 contacting with the blade member from another surface side of the blade member; a tube 42 contacting with the blade member and configured to expand and contract by pressure of fluid; and a tube positioning part 43a which is provided on the upper holder and positions the tube closer to the roller, in a direction in which the blade member extends, than a tip end of the lower holder is. The tube adjusts a pressing force, of the tip end of the blade member, against the roller by being expanded or contracted while being held by the tube positioning part and the blade member.
