    Abstract: The present invention discloses a thermoplastic flame-retardant alloy and a method for preparing it, composed of the following components by the shares and weights as below: 5-94 shares of ABS resin, 3-94 shares of polyester or co-polyester or the mixture of both, 1-50 shares of brominated flame retardant, 1-10 shares of synergistic flame-retardant, 0.001-30 shares of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), 0.001-2 shares of anti-dripping agent and 0.1-6 shares of processing aid. Comparing with the ABS flame retardant presenting the prior art, the thermoplastic flame-retardant alloy features better glossness, scratch resistance, stronger ultraviolet radiation resistance and better mechanical property, thus making up for the disadvantage that the flame-retardant ABS is prone to become yellow on some occasions with high weatherability requirements. Furthermore, the preparation method of the thermoplastic flame-retardant alloy for the present invention is successive, stable and feasible.

    Abstract: A flame-retardant composition with excellent wear resistance and cold resistance, an insulated electric wire and a wiring harness using the same. The flame-retardant composition includes a base resin that has a flexural modulus of 500 MPa or more and a Charpy impact strength at −20° C. of 1 KJ/m2 or more, and a flame retardant that is a pulverized natural mineral containing magnesium hydroxide as a main ingredient. The base resin preferably contains polypropylene as a main ingredient, and the content of the magnesium hydroxide is preferably 30 to 250 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the base resin. The insulated electric wire includes a conductor and the flame-retardant composition that covers the conductor. The wiring harness includes the insulated electric wire.

    Abstract: To provide a non-crosslinked flame-retardant resin composition possessing sufficient flame retardancy, mechanical properties, flexibility and workability, and also delivering excellent heat resistance over a long period of time as it is hard to be molten when used under high temperature environment and its material is not deteriorated even if used in contact with a vinyl chloride resin material and the like, and an insulated wire and a wiring harness using the same. The composition includes (A) a non-crosslinked base resin which contains a propylene resin containing 50 wt % or more of propylene monomer and a thermoplastic resin of which a melting point is 180° C. or more, (B) a metallic hydrate, (C) a hindered phenolic antioxidant, (D) a sulfurous antioxidant, and (E) a metallic oxide. Polymethylpentene, an imidazole compound and an oxide of zinc are preferably utilized as the thermoplastic resin, the ingredients (D) and (E), respectively. The composition is used as an insulated covering material for a non-halogenous insulated wire, which is used in a wire bundle of the wiring harness.

    Abstract: A flame retardant resin composition which is reasonable in price and possesses superior cold resistance, wear resistance and hot-water resistance, an insulated wire and a wiring harness. The flame-retardant resin composition includes a propylene polymer including an ethylene unit within a range of 1 to 15 mass %, and magnesium hydroxide derived from a natural mineral. The content of the magnesium hydroxide is preferably within a range of 50 to 200 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of a polymer component in the composition. A styrene-type thermoplastic elastomer is preferably included in the composition. A Charpy impact value of the propylene polymer at a temperature of −20° C. is preferably 3 to 8 KJ/m2. An insulated wire includes a conductor and the flame-retardant resin composition which covers the conductor, and a wiring harness includes the insulated wire.
