Abstract:
To provide a pneumatic tire wherein the lightweight properties of a tire is secured while improving the plunger energy and BES resistance thereof, which is particularly suitable for tires for a large passenger car or extra load tires. A pneumatic tire comprising a carcass 1 as a skeleton, and at least two belt layers 2a, 2b each formed by rubberizing a plurality of steel cords arranged obliquely with respect to the tire circumferential direction on the outside in the tire radial direction of the crown portion of the carcass is provided. The steel cord is composed of two or more core wires and five to seven sheath wires twisted together around the core wires; the interval between adjacent steel cords in the belt layer is more than 1.0 mm and not more than 1.50 mm; and the gauge of the belt layer is not less than 1.20 mm and not more than 1.60 mm.
Abstract:
A steel cord used for reinforcing rubber product with an oval cross-section has a structure of m+n, while m is the number of core wires (26) and n is the number of the outer layer wires (22). The core wire (26) is untwisted while m is 1 or the core wires (26) are untwisted and aligned in parallel while m is between 2 and 4, and the outer layer wires (22) are twisted around said core wires (26). The core wires (26) are oval wires and the outer layer wires (22) are round wires. The wires (22, 26) in the steel cord have a carbon content not less than 0.60%.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cable comprising filaments (10) containing carbon, surrounded by a sizing material (12). Said filaments (10) surrounded by the sizing material (12) are covered by a matrix (14) which is composed of a material containing at least one elastomer and/or at least one thermoplastic elastomer. Said cable can be used, in particular for pulling a load, for example in a goods lift.
Abstract:
A steel cord for reinforcing rubber articles in which sheath wires are not deviated and which has an excellent rubber penetration property and a tire which has an excellent durability using the steel cord is provided. A steel cord for reinforcing rubber articles composed of a core 10 composed of two untwisted steel wires 1 and six sheath wires 2 which are twisted around the core 10 is disclosed. The average of gap distances between the adjacent sheath wires 2 is 24 µm or larger, and the occupancy of the sheath wires 6 disposed around the core 10 with respect to a sheath wire disposition area is 80% or larger. A pneumatic tire in which the steel cord is applied on both a carcass and (a) belt layer(s) or applied on either the carcass or the belt layer(s) is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A pneumatic radial tire having a tire component consisting of a steel cord, wherein the steel cord has (a) a 1+N structure in which N pieces of sheath filaments are twisted around a core filament permanently formed into a spiral shape in a cord longitudinal direction, (b) a flat cross-sectional shape, (c) an open structure where the sheath filaments have clearances between adjoining filaments at the cord cross section, (d) the core filament cut into clearances between the filaments, and (e) the spiral direction of the core filament aligned with the twisting direction of the sheath filaments.
Abstract:
A steel cord for the reinforcement of rubber articles has a two-layer construction in which a core consists of two steel filaments and a sheath arranged around the core consists of nine steel filaments.
