Drahtseil (1), insbesondere Seilbahn-Tragseil, mit einem Kern, der von zumindest einer äußeren Lage (8, 10-13) von Seilelementen (9) umgeben ist, und der zumindest einen zur Datenübertragung vorgesehenen Lichtwellenleiter (3) aufweist, der in einem Metallröhrchen (5) eingebettete Glasfasern (6) enthält und der mit zumindest einem Draht (4, 4') zu einem Spiralseil (2) verseilt ist; dabei ist das Kern-Spiralseil (2) von einem Kunststoffmantel (7) umgeben, der eine Schutzhülle gegenüber der zumindest einen äußeren Seilelemente-Lage (8, 10-13) bildet.

A pneumatic tire includes metal cords each made of metal filaments twisted together, the metal cords having an initial elongation in a range of from 0.05 to 0.20 % and a standard deviation of the initial elongation in a range of not more than 0.02. A method of manufacturing the metal cord comprises shaping metal filaments in a two-dimensional zigzag waveform, and twisting the shaped metal filaments together, wherein the number of the filaments is in a range of from 8 to 12, the metal filaments have the same diameter (d) of from 0.15 to 0.30 mm, the shaped metal filaments have the same zigzag waveforms, the zigzag waveform of each said shaped metal filament has constant wave lengths (P) and constant wave heights (h) wherein the ratio (P/d) is in the range of 100/3 to 700/3, and the ratio (h/d) is in the range of 5/3 to 80/3.

The invention concerns a composite cable comprising a plurality of strands (10, 12) stranded around a composite synthetic core (5) with a concentric structure: the core (5) consists of a nucleus (11) formed by a bundle of parallel synthetic fibres extending along the cable longitudinal direction, and of a compact thermoplastic sheath (13) enclosing said nucleus (11) and serving as winding support for the strands. The invention is particularly applicable to cables for lifting or for elevators.

A steel cord (10) has a diameter D and comprises a core strand (12) and up to nine peripheral strands (14) surrounding the core strand. The core strand (12) has a diameter D1 and the peripheral strands (14) have a diameter D2. The ratio core strand diameter to peripheral strand diameter D1/D2 is greater than a predetermined value in order to enable rubber penetration. Each strand comprises a centre of one or more centre filaments (16,22) and two or more layers of filaments (18,20,24,26) surrounding the centre. The twist angle of a radially outer layer is smaller than the twist angle of a radially inner layer of the same strand. A first free space (28) ranging from 0.0015xD to 0.0075xD is provided in at least the core strand (12) between each pair of filaments (18) of the radially most inner layer.
