    Abstract: A passage barrier has first and second guide elements that cooperate to define a gate region, through which a person passes from an entrance region into a passage region. The passage barrier has a drive drive unit. The drive has an output unit including a hollow shaft having an outer shell surface. The hollow shaft has a barrier element mount formed for fixing a plate-shaped barrier element on the hollow shaft and is formed substantially in a U-shape. The barrier element is fixed between the limbs of the barrier element mount, wherein at least two adhesive grooves are provided on the inside at the base of the barrier element mount. At least two opposing adhesive grooves are provided for receiving an adhesive on the inside on both limbs of the barrier element mount and opposing grooves are formed on the inside at distal ends of the barrier element mount.

    Abstract: A foot operable door opener operates, without using one's hands, and without an electrical assist. The entrance cycle is initiated by stepping on a pedal. This force drives the pedal a ¼ turn, engaging a soft wheel to open the door. The pedal is hard linked to a crank arm which goes into a unidirectional crank shaft hub to turn the wheel. The downward pressure from the pedal pivots a ratcheted hinge connected to a bracketed spring-loaded wheel assembly to keep constant pressure to the ground. A gear box or multiple pumps of the pedal turns the wheel two or more 360 degrees rotations, opening the door to allow the entrant to pass until the foot pedal is disengaged. This action releases the ratcheting hinge mechanism, allowing the spring assisted wheel assemble to rotate to its original up position, releasing the wheel from the ground, allowing the door to close.

    Abstract: A “Pipe and Strap Operating Drive System” (PSODS) is disclosed which efficiently and accurately positions a blocker, or door mechanism, over an opening that is of exact or similar profile and dimensions as the door mechanism. In the preferred embodiment, PSODS is used to vary the position of a poultry house ventilation blocker or door mechanism from a tightly-closed position against the opening, or when required, within a certain range of door mechanism open positions, as dictated by weather conditions or internal air quality. Essentially, the inventive concept featuring PSODS utilizes at least one strap, wherein a first end of each strap is wound about a length of pipe, termed a “pipe drive.” The second end of the strap is attached proximate an upper edge of the door mechanism. As the pipe drive is rotated, the attached strap(s) control movement of the door mechanism toward a closed or open position.

    Abstract: The present invention essentially comprises an activation unit of an overhead door backup spring system operable upon failure of a spring, and method of using an activation unit. The activation unit has a rotating and sliding plunger that is operated upon failure of a spring. The activation unit can be used with an engagement unit that is engageable with an auxiliary spring to transfer torque from the auxiliary spring to an overhead door shaft. A plunger sleeve supports and guides the plunger by way of a sleeve slot that receives a plunger pin extending from the plunger. A plunger spring biases the plunger, while the sleeve slot retains the plunger in a biased state until activation by a portion of the spring upon failure of the spring.

    Abstract: A height adjustment device for a transit shaft and arm assembly that enables height adjustments without significant disassembly of a transit door. An additional advantage is that the device does not require the use of shims, spacers or adjustment rings to adjust the height of the shaft and arm assemblies. Rotation of a nut threaded on the shaft allows for the adjustment of how much of the shaft hangs below a support member and a bearing. A surface of the nut bears on the bearing and the attached shaft and arm assembly hangs from the bearing and the support member the bearing is attached to. This arrangement allows the arm assembly to pivot along the longitudinal axis of the shaft. This arrangement also allows the height of the shaft and arm assembly to change with changes in position of the nut by threading the nut along the shaft.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for locking and ejecting a movable furniture part, comprising two unlockable ejection devices arranged on both sides of a furniture body or on the movable furniture part, and spring-loaded ejectors, wherein the unlockable ejection devices comprise a catch element mounted on a linearly displaceable carriage, the catch element engaging into a slotted guide path having the shape of a heart curve and by which the movable furniture part can be held in a closed latching position (E) via a locking element.
